22 March Two days does not a habit make, but it seems that I have worked out a system for not being late. Set the alarm for 9.30a, hit snooze until 10a, get up, go to the bathroom, get dressed, go out and get breakfast, pick up anything needed quickly from the supermarket, come home, feed the cats, eat breakfast, check e-mail, pack up computer, leave the house at 11a, get to work between 5 and 10 minutes early. Again, we'll see how long this lasts, but it actually doesn't seem too hard, and even with leaving the hose and everything, I don't feel rushed. And Monday I showered instead of getting breakfast, since I didn't the night before, so that's not a deal-breaker either. Maybe putting your mind to not being late makes it possible for you to not be late. There's a lesson to learn at rather a late date!
Yesterday was a lovely slow day at work, then an easy night at the theatre while still making a nice chunk of change, then Mark called me on my way home from the theatre and we talked for over half an hour, which was really nice.

Sally goes potty in the kitty box!
Have I yet mentioned Sally's pompom? That sounds vaguely dirty, but she has two pompoms (even worse!) ripped off of my scarf that she plays with, and the most impressive thing about it is that is has been several months and both pompoms are still around! I have never had a cat in my life who didn't lose a toy in fifteen minutes, max. Baldrick loves tinfoil balls, and used to fetch them (you still can't crinkle a candy wrapper in his hearing or he comes running), and when I moved to Weehawken and we moved the refrigerator, hundreds of tinfoil balls were underneath! And Sally really does know the word "pompom", because if I am not planning on tossing it for her, I had better spell it out rather than say it. She is one smart cat brat. And not nearly as shy and sweet as she seemed to begin with. I have noticed, as of late, that when she and Baldrick are fighting, she instigates it more often than he does! I always automatically yelled at Baldrick when I heard cat screeches, but now I know that she is just as bad as he is. You know what that means? That means that there are two bad kitties again! I missed there being two bad kitties.
Found out that in the festival we are having this summer, a playwright that I absolutely worship is having a play in. Does that mean that he'll be here? Does that mean that I'll fall ovah in a heap on the flo'? (and if there is anyone on earth who recognizes that quote, I'll be very surprised) I held my composure when Simon Jones was here, I managed not to scream like a bobbysoxer when Frank Langella was here, I certainly should be able to stay calm for this genius, but we'll see...
I'm glad Monday is a quiet day at work, so I was able to weep freely at this entry of Patrick's in the lobby without startling anyone.
