(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

11 March

So, yesterday I was late to work for the first time all week, and why? Because I had a bad van driver! And by bad van driver, I mean one that follows all the traffic laws, doesn't cut anyone off, doesn't turn right from the far left-hand lane--you know, a bad van driver!

What you want in a van driver is a real impatient asshole, otherwise you'll never get to work ontime.

This morning, on the other hand, I had a driver who, when forced by a traffic cop to turn left from the far left lane when he wanted to turn right, immediately did a hugely illegal U-turn and got us back headed in the right direction!

This guy, this guy I want to drive me every morning.

So how was the show last night, you ask me? I'll tell you how the show was last night, the show was cancelled last night, that's how the show was.

We had two audience members again, but this time they both were comps, a staff comp and the girlfriend of the lead, who was an Equity comp. And the decision was made not to do the show for two people and a box office of $0.

Personally, I would have done the show, I never think that there is a good reason to cancel a show. I mean, maybe if there was nobody at all, unless it was opening night and then why not just do the show as another dress rehearsal. But seriously, why not do the show? We are there, we are in costume, what is the point of not doing it?

On the other hand, I understand why we didn't. The real decision was made by Alex and Terry, since they are the leads and work the hardest during the show. Tonight we have 13 reservations, so it should not be a problem again.

The funny part was afterwards, when Ellen bought wine from the concession stand for all of the girls, and when I gave the money to Jackie, I remarked that it was more than we had made at the box office the night before!

Sally has gotten into the habit recently of cuddling frantically before I go to sleep, as though she is trying to get it all in as fast as she can before Baldrick joins me and she has to slip under the bed like the bit of quicksilver that she is.

It's actually very funny and deliberate, very rub rub RUB! Scratch my chin, SCRATCH IT! Purr PURRRRR!! Galloping all over the bed, flinging herself about, then cuddling down, pretending that she's settling down for the night. Until! Zip! She's gone, like Keyser Soze.

I actually fear that one day she will stay too long and there will be a cat fight over my ass, but she's too quick to be caught out like that.

On the other hand, when I woke up this morning before the alarm, she was sleeping next to my head and Balders was sleeping next to my feet, so maybe the bed will be the no-mans land and there will be peace. If on the bed only. Although now they eat next to each other, and yesterday Balders was on my lap and Sally was on the printer, and that isn't very far apart.

I doubt there'll be wedding bells anytime soon, but it seems as though I will have two cats in my apartment and not one cat and one ghost of a cat hiding in the closet.

Today's horoscope:
You're ready, willing and able to talk turkey, especially when it comes to getting close with someone you love -- or should we say closer. What you need now is some quality time together. Put it into your schedule -- in pen.

One year ago today:
One thing I forget about being in LA is how it relates to my seasonal-affective disorder. No matter how much I'd rather be in N.Y., I have to admit, that sun sure is making me happy.
