(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

20 June

Got up at the crack of God yesterday in order to rehearse on the Upper West Side at 10.30a. These people's damn schedules are driving me crazy, but at least we could meet sometime on Saturday.

The rehearsal was good, but why doesn't Henry know his lines? Is it just to punish me and make me crazy? We open in FIVE DAYS, don't you think that he might consider possibly glancing at his lines sometime when he is not actually in rehearsal? Just as a gift to me?

Hell, I won't be the one up there looking like an asshole if he doesn't know his lines, that would be him, but why would he want to put himself through that?

Worked the matinee, which was okay, then the evening performance, which had exactly four audience members. Father's Day is no day to do a show, that's for damn sure.

I went in because Shawn begged me to, though I was sort of mulling it over anyway, and there were only four people, so why not. And you know what? It wasn't bad! It wasn't brilliant, but it really wasn't bad at all! Shocked the shit out of me!

And it wasn't even that it was good as compared with my incredibly low expectations, it was actually pretty good in real life. Sri was hilarious, and there were a couple of new people whom I really liked, and I never noticed what a rack one woman had before. And Shawn gave one of the best acting jobs I have ever seen him do.

Not a wasted evening! That's a pull-quote for the ad right there.

Mom and I spent hours and hours doing the Emmy nominations, which is such a massive pain you wouldn't believe it, but I really want to champion the shows that I love, so even though the last bit of it was me lying in bed mumbling "yes, no, yeah, that one" as Mom read out the names to me, it was worth it.

I made sure that Farscape - The Peacekeeper Wars was nominated in every category possible, and Deadwood and Arrested Development and House, and then we did our "these shows are canceled but we want to make a statement about that travesty of justice!" nominations, mine for Eyes and Mom's for Blind Justice.

(tea set)

Happy Father's Day, Daddy. I miss you every day.
