Holy cats! First of all, yesterday I got up, stepped into the living room, and almost fainted because it was cool! With a breeze!

The night before I had bought another fan because it was 90° at 11p, but by golly, the heat broke. The baby Jesus loves us.

Then I got to work late for the first time in weeks, and it was the worst day imaginable for me to come late, because it was crazy busy.

One of our shows got a review in the Times that was so good, from one of the crankier critics as well, it was as though someone was blowing him as he was writing it, he was so enraptured. This meant that there was a line out the door. All day long.

I helped as much as I could with everything that had nothing to do with the actual ticket selling, I put together the TDF tickets and I alphabetized and answered questions and gently steered people towards the other shows in this building which are just as good.

It was an absolute zoo. Thank goodness it wasn't also hot.

Afterwards I went to Love Creek and did the one-acts, which was not nearly as crowded as the opening night, but still pretty good. I stayed through the whole evening, and why? 10.30p rehearsal, that's why!

It went pretty well, we worked through the first third of it, me being picky about the mime and about the level of energy. I don't care it's it's midnight and we're all tired, if I need to give an energy note, I will, rather than letting an actor become accustomed to being laid back in a certain section when they have just killed someone or robbed a store and they need to be energetic about that fact.
