(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

5 April

So yesterday was my first day off. First! Day! Off! I am officially on break! Bubbling is over and I am not doing a show for months!

So what did I do last night for my first! Day! Off!? I agreed to read stage directions for a reading of the show that Rob is doing in September. The things I end up doing because I never like to say no.

It was okay, though the show wasn't so much to my taste. The audience ate it up with a spoon, but I thought it was easy humour, and a real audience not filled entirely with friends of the playwright might not laugh hysterically at every little camp joke.

The performers are pretty good, but I just didn't see the point.

On my way to the reading, I stopped at a Body Shop for the first time in I don't know how long, but I absolutely have to have some anti-frizz stuff to put on my completely pro-frizz hair.

I haven't been able to find my green tube of anti-frizz stuff for awhile, and my hair has taken advantage of that fact and become so flyaway that I look like...someone with flyaway hair. Sandy Dennis? Carrot Top? And I haven't been to the Body Shop in absolute years, since I had a no-buying year a few years ago and then never came back.

I thought about the great Henna Hair Mask that they used to have, and the great Parsley-Mint Mask that they used to have, and was fairly certain that the Anti-Frizz Decoction was gone forever as well, but they just changed what the tube looked like. Hooray!

I also got some banana shampoo and conditioner for Very Dry Hair. Now, what I actually have is Very Oily Hair, but shampoo for Very Oily hair tends to exacerbate them fly-aways. See above.

God, my hair is a pain in the neck. Anyway, I bought those three things and was talked into getting the frequent buyer card, so I guess I'll be back again.

Today's horoscope:
Welcome to two straight days of concentrating on nothing more intently than that one special someone. You're ready, and so are they. It may not be the weekend, but you two can certainly pretend it is.

One year ago today:
And let me tell you, the plainsong version is so much more moving than in my church, especially since they had this woman with a voice like Shirley Temple reading Pilate, and this high, squeaky voice with short vowels saying, "Flog him and release him, he has committed no capital crime," and then segueing into "Good Ship Lollipop".
