11 October So I weighed myself this morning, and...I lost six pounds! Yay! Man, I do love the beginning of a diet, big losses, great joy, haven't lost control yet, blah blah blah. And I ate like an complete pig all day yesterday, but it was all staying within my points! I knew that I would probably go out to eat and where, so I made sure that I had plenty of flex points left over. And by golly, I ate every one. I had said before that I never kept a food journal when I did Weight Watchers before, but that is a giant untruth, I had forgotten until I was looking in my WW booklet and found all of my old journals. Which was great, because it reminded me of yummy low-points foods! Like low-fat waffles and whipped cream for breakfast (4 points), and flan (3 points), and the fajitas that I used to get for lunch near my office (6 points). I do know that after a month or two, it won't be so much fun, but right now I'm having a great time.
There were two shows yesterday, a matinee and an evening, so Fran and I left the house at about 1.20p. And arrived at the theatre around 2.20p. The great thing about traveling in together was that when Le said "Kymm, this is later than I'd like you to be here," we both were able to protest that the traffic was horrific!! Cynthia and the kids were coming in to see the show, so I called her while we were on the bus and told her that we had been traveling for half an hour already and couldn't even see the toll booth (a small reminder: the Tunnel is about five minutes from my house), so they might want to be leaving the house earlier than planned. You see, with this show, there is no late seating. And I couldn't really imagine anything worse than to have Cynthia and the kids running up the street and then not be able to let them in. Of course, she didn't get my message until they were already on the van, but the traffic had lightened up a bit, and I only had to hold the curtain for eight minutes before they tore through the door, panting and exhausted from running up the stairs.
Between shows, Mark and I went to eat at the place with the half-priced appetizers, so we were able to have a fine meal for only $5 each. Perfect for someone as poor as I! We usually like eating outside, since you can smoke out there, but between the time that we left the theatre and the time that we were walking down the street it became freezing cold and very blowy. They still had the bug window walls open, so even though we ended up inside, it was still pretty cold. It's really time to give up wearing sandals, at least until I go home for Christmas. During the evening show, I asked him if he was going to Maggie's comedy performance next week, and he said that she had asked him maybe to do something in it, but if not, he thought he would. And then made noises as though he was going to pay for my entry, but I have no idea if that means it's a date or not. I never know whether it's a date.
