(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

25 May

Well, that's better.

Last night I went to bed before 1a, though I didn't get to sleep until after 2a because I was finishing Rilla of Ingleside (always my favourite of the Anne of Green Gables series), so I was certain not to sleep All Damn Day.

Of course, Baldrick had his own opinion on the matter, spending 6.30a to 7.30a insisting that I get up and pet him, though I managed to go back to sleep over his objections. By the time I actually got up, it was 10.40a, which rather startled me, since my alarm was set for 10.30a and I never heard it! And it's not as though I was so deeply asleep that I slept through it. Maybe I was laying down on it.

No matter, I got myself out of the house in time for breakfast, and went to the supermarket for my weekly scavenger hunt through the aisles. I'm vaguely hoping that the somewhat random remodeling will be done someday, but it does make shopping somewhat interesting, looking for where on earth the sugar is this time.

I got up before noon, do I get a prize?

Yesterday was a lazy day, no shows, no reason to go into the city, so I basically barely moved. Though I did roust myself enough to go to the library and pick up my books on hold.

I really do love this hold system! Before, when I used to spend a lot of time at the library you actually had to look in the card catalog and on the shelves for the books that you wanted, you couldn't just order them like they're room service.

Of course, there were holds, but it was a whole system with postcards and so on and half the time you didn't get the books you wanted and it wasn't nearly as nice or as handy as it is now. On the other hand...

I was going to say that I didn't end up with ten million books out at a time, but that is a giant lie, I have never not had ten million books out at a time, this is just a more convenient way of doing it.

This is officially the coolest and funniest thing ever in the whole wide world. No question about it. I so envy Eliza for getting to ride it in person! Not to mention Toni for being lucky enough to be married to the kind of guy who would think up something like that.

Today's horoscope:
A surprise is due, and it's going to come about via the revelation of either a secret admirer or a behind-the-scenes guardian angel. Either way, pretend you didn't know.

One year ago today:
It was really sweet, at one point he fell asleep, his head against my head. It was for only five minutes, but I wish he hadn't awakened so quickly, it was such a lovely moment.
