(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

24 May

Well, after sleeping all day yesterday, I was worried that I'd never sleep. I did manage to get myself to bed around 4a, so that was an hour earlier than the night before. I set my alarm for 10.30a, and by the time I woke, it had been ringing for quite some while. I shut it off, turned over and went back to sleep.

The cat tried to get me up at some point, meowing and chewing on my hair, but I didn't wake up properly until nearly 3p. Can somebody please explain to me why I suddenly have to sleep for eleven hours every night when nine used to be just enough?

Maybe tomorrow I'll get up by 2p, and the next day by 1p and so on until I manage to get up at a reasonable hour at long last.

Yesterday was closing night for the early show, and they didn't manage to get in enough audience to pay me, but at least it was only one show and I could leave after the interval.

I brought my Wiseguy DVDs with me and started watching those while I was there, watching more when I got home. Funny, such a fan of that show as I was, I only got into it during the Proffit arc and never saw the Steelgrave episodes.

So far, they are very good. Ray Sharkey sure was sexy as Sonny Steelgrave, I was quite impressed. It's so sad that he died so young, he had such an essence coming off of him on the small screen, he could have been quite a movie star.

I was running out of TiVo room, so I watched the SNL from the night before, The Best of Christopher Walken. Had they made that episode with me in mind, they couldn't have done a better job.

They picked all of the best sketches, Blue Oyster Cult, Pranksters, the Lovahs, "Ed Glosser-Trivial Psychic", the census sketch with Tim Meadows. I was surprised that they included that last one, I was all prepared to complain that they had left it out. Just because it is the single best stand-alone sketch that SNL has ever done, that doesn't mean that they'd actually realize that fact. It made up for the inclusion of the Mango sketch that really made me realize how dreadful they got towards the end.

And it literally does not matter how many times I see that Blue Oyster Cult sketch, I still shriek with laughter.

"I gotta fevah and the only prescription is more cowbell!!!

It was awfully hot and humid yesterday, I particularly noticed it last night. When it's uncomfortably warm at 10p, then you know that you are in for it, though it was cooler when I went out for a smoke later at night.

If it's like this in May, what will the summer be like?
