(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

24 March

Hey, I have time to do an entry at last! This is because I am at Melanie's house and there is no time limit. There are, however, children, so we'll see how this goes.

It's been a long week, to say the least. Hmm, how do I want to write this? Because I'm going to be moving these entries over to my journal when my computer is released from the maw that is Gateway, and filling in the spaces inbetween, so I don't want to write about the days that I haven't written about yet, because then what will I write in the entries that have yet to be written?

It's awfully complicated being me.

So I really can only talk about yesterday. You will have to sit with bated breaths, wondering what on earth has been going on with me these past few days. Wait until you hear how sick I was on Saturday night! Because I was really sick, you know. Lying on the floor waiting to die sick. However, I cannot tell you about it. How sad you must be.

So, yesterday was a Glendale day. I love that library, I love that part of town, I love everything about going there. Especially the three free hours of parking and the fact that it's only 20 minutes away from my house.

When I was in high school, I did a show at Glendale college (Oklahoma, I think), and I remember it being the longest drive in the world, but this is just about as close as Gardner is, only in the other direction.

I remembered that they showed movies at 2p on Tuesdays, and even remembered in time to leave the house early enough so that I could do my computer stuff beforehand, especially since I needed to Deal With Ushers before the show started at 7.30p. Time zones are my enemy.

The movie was the original version of The Italian Job, which I had never seen. I also never saw the remake, to the plot was pretty much new to me, except that there was a job and it was in Italy.

I love British films of that period, all Mod and Swinging and so on, but especially if they have Michael Caine in them, because he was the Moddest and the Swingingest of them all. Except maybe Terance Stamp. Anyway, he was so blond and hot back then, I cannot even believe that they remade it with the charisma-free Markie Mark. At least the Alfie remake stars Jude Law, that's a step in the right direction!

Anyway, the movie was great fun, Michael was great, Noel Coward was great, there was a little too much driving around for my taste, so I zoned out a bit towards the end when they had been driving around for quite awhile, but other than that, I had a swell time. And the ending was the most nervy ending that I have ever seen. I seriously doubt that the remake had the same ending, a modern studio film wouldn't dare.

I was the only person in the theatre under 100. Everyone else must work during the day rather than going to free movies at the library.

Afterwards, I bopped over to Gateway to inquire over my computer, but the guy I usually talk to wasn't there, so all I know about my computer is that I still haven't got it. I'll go back on Friday and hopefully my guy will be where he's supposed to be, waiting for me to take care of me and my computer. Become my guy, always be there when I need you, that's the rule.

Today's horoscope:
Even if you're not a juggler, you still want to do everything at once. Excitement can drain you unless you pace yourself. Save the best for last only if you're sure of making it to the end.

One year ago today:
I don't think that many Mickey Rooney jokes have been told all in a row since about 1942. They certainly were fresh, though one can only imagine the younger and stupider actors in the crowd thinking, "Who is Steve talking about? Who's that old midget in the back waving his arms? When are they going to start talking about me? Ooh, shiny!"
