(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

17 March

I was in the library yesterday, but managed to forget to update anyway.

I was busy doing many important things, like getting the ten million megs of spam out of my mailbox (can someone please tell me why everyone on earth thinks I need Xanax? I may start taking it personally! Although I actually wouldn't mind having a MASSIRVE ROCK-SOLID ERECETION IN 60 SECAONDS OR LESS! Would come in handy at times.) and dealing with Love Creek issues.

Yesterday was, amusingly, Love Creek Day, since first I was awakened by Rebecca calling because she couldn't get into the theatre. I guess she didn't know I was in LA, but it didn't matter, since I actually could help her, knowing as I do that Philip has the extra keys.

Then I got a call from Dawn because she wanted to cancel her show because of the ice storm, which is of course ridiculous and stupid--you don't cancel a show for any reason but quite astounding illness or death, and even then you step in and do the role yourself.

Speaking as someone who had to go onstage and read in a role in a play that I had never seen before because I was the only white girl in the building (the play had an all black cast, crew and artistic staff, and the whole point of my role is that she was a white girl--this was back when I used to run the box when we were in the Nat Horn), there is no reason to ever cancel a show.

Anyhow, I told her to call Le, because I wasn't going to be at the show tonight and I didn't have the authority to tell her that it was alright. I did not go into the many reasons why it is not. Because it sure isn't.

So then I went to the library in Glendale, again staggering out under the weight of All the Books in the World, and while I was at the computer, a girl came up to me and said "Didn't you used to be in Love Creek?" I had known her slightly years ago, and now she's in LA. Funny that she should run into me on Love Creek Day. Or rather, fitting.

At the library, on of my favourite movies, Twelve Angry Men, was half over. Next week is The Italian Job, the real one, I must remember to get there by 2p. I used to go to library movies all the time when I was in college, at the Jefferson Market library. It'll be fun to do that again.

(lizard foot)

I tried to take a picture of this lizard on the wall, but he ran away too fast. He was entirely uninterested in posing for the paparazzi.

Today's horoscope:
Lift your head above the noise and distraction. You have the means to help others that are coping with this, too. Acts of kindness disrupt your schedule, but they'll be remembered for a long time to come.

One year ago today:
The thing that I thought was the funniest was Omar was dressed in a tight black t-shirt and black jeans and boots and a black belt, and when Jesse dressed in his hustler clothes in the play, he put on...a tight black t-shirt and black jeans and boots and a black belt. "Look honey, you're dressed just like Jesse as a prostitute!"
