6 March Okay, I have no computer, as I told my notify list, and there is no way to ftp an entry from a public computer even if I had an entry to ftp, so hey, I might as well enjoy the thrill of blogging here, since I never do anyway. I never realized how much I would miss writing every day until I couldn't. Sounds hilarious, I know, especially since I'm so completely behind, but even if I wasn't posting every day, I usually was writing every day, either an entry that I couldn't post because I had older ones to write, or notes for an entry that I was going to write in the future. You weren't getting them, but I was actually writing every day. I actually started writing in a paper journal last night, because otherwise I know that I would have been all "What the hell happened on Thursday?" by the time I either get my computer back or Mom's starts magically working again. It magically worked this morning. It really did, I said to Mom, "Shh, you'll scare it!" and it immediately froze up again. But I made it all the way to the desktop for the first time in several days, so that was pretty exciting. Melanie called me last night and said that she had a friend who could fix the recalcitrant one, so hopefully I will be re-computered by next week. Either that or I will drown myself. Stay tuned!
I'm at the library now, not Kinko's. I totally forgot that you can get free time at the library! I remember a couple of years ago I went to Kinko's every day, never thinking of the library once. It's the new library on Sunset, replacing the last of my childhood libraries, the Gardner branch. It is very upsetting. So upsetting, in fact, that when I called information yesterday to find out the address and phone number, the operator was horrified that the Gardner library was closed. "It was my childhood library!" "Mine, too!" "Did you go to Fairfax High?" I have never had such a human conversation with an information operator before. All change is bad, operators agree. It's nice to be able to sit here and write, not worrying about the charges piling up. Of course, the library closes in half an hour and you don't have to worry about that at Kinko's. Anyway, I'll pop round here once a day and dash something off. Maybe you're lucky that my computer is down, you'll actually get entries this way!
