Thanks to Saundra for another great design! You all should appreciate Saundra, because you couldn't imagine how ugly this page would be without her help.

So yesterday was the first read-through of Flora, Horror and Java, at long long last.

Omar was so nervous about what people would think of this wild script, but since they already read it and accepted the roles, they probably were going to think it was alright.

And they did! It went really well, everyone laughed and laughed, it was really great seeing how much of it really worked and was funny. And the cast is great, everyone is going to be just terrific.

The funniest part was that Jim brought his son, because they were going to a hockey game afterwards, so he sat in the other room and played with Moira's computer. As Jim was reading his part, he came to the line, "Either way, it's a pain in the ass!" and this little voice pipes up from the other room, "Daddy, did you just say ass?"

I wish there was a way to get that into the show.

Afterwards, we discussed some changes that should be made, some things that maybe Omar wanted to think about, and I went to do the box office for the show.

Omar called me, I swear to God, nine times during the show, wanting to go over the rewrites, which were terrific. He can come up with an idea that doesn't quite work, I can say no, that it should be something like this, and he will come back with something that builds on my suggestion and makes it better than I imagined. We make a great writing team.

I've been living with this script for over a year, since this meeting with Omar and Cynthia, and it's almost astonishing to me that we are finally doing it.

One year ago today:
Our Assistant Controller is small, blonde, sweet-faced, beautiful and completely terrifying. I would have definitely chosen the better road had I walked out.
