7 September Fran just called me. From upstairs. At 8.48a on a Sunday morning. To tell me that they were leaving the dog door open and could I close it if I left the house. He is almost completely insane. Also, really lucky that I was already awake.
My nails, my nails, o how I love my nails. You know that commercial that says "What's the best thing about nail polish? Putting it on. What's the worst thing? Taking it off." Not true. What's the best thing about nail polish? Putting it on. What's the worst thing? Thinking, "Is it too soon to take it off and put on different nail polish? I've only had it on eight hours, is it a waste to take it off now?" I change my nail polish as often as I change my mind. Or I want to, at any rate. So yesterday morning I put on blue nail polish, and then last night I put the silver and blue glitter that Elizabeth gave me (which isn't just small glitter, it also has bigger pieces, it's really cool) on over it, then I put on two more coats without waiting for it to dry, so it smeared, which meant that I got to take it off and then put it on again this morning! Maybe it'll smear again and I'll have the fun of doing it all over one more time!
So yesterday I went back to Virgin, like a good little girl, to return those DVDs that I neither need nor can afford. Though I do want them. Want. Want. Covet. Want... I decided not to return American Pie, since it's a gift for The Raccoon and I need to send it to her right away, before The Company That Must Not Be Named implodes and folds up into itself down into the ground like the house did at the end of Poltergeist. So I returned All That Jazz and Wings of Desire and The Two Towers and Angel Season Two, and it turned out to be a clever thing that I didn't return everything, because they refunded the entire price for All That Jazz, when I had only paid half price for it. Which meant that I got a $7 discount on American Pie, which meant that I paid $2 less for it than if I had gotten it through Amazon. So the key is that I returned all of the things that I got for myself and kept the thing that I got for someone else, and was rewarded.
The other actual useful thing I did yesterday (i.e. not paint my nails, sun myself or talk on the phone) was take my own headshot. I've been using one that really isn't very good for awhile, although "using" is less the word than "not using", and the new Player's Directory is coming out soon, so Mom told me to for heaven's sake take a digital shot of myself and put on a little makeup and send it to her. And after only an hour or so, I got something decent.
My forehead looks weirdly huge, but that's because of the angle I had to take it in order that I not have a quintuple chin. I'll take a big forehead over looking like Charles Laughton. See my pretty anchor necklace?
By the way, if you don't check out the photo journal that often, there are some other really hot shots of Omar from the Lancaster sessions.
