(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

22 October

Yeah, well, there's still no word from him, and I'm still not mad, but now I'm really really hurt.

There is no excuse for it being two days and no phone call, no excuse but being hit by a car and in the hospital. And in a coma, because even in the hospital he could say to someone, "Call Kymm," but just plain being in the hospital would be enough.

The only other excuse that I would accept would be that he is at the bottom of a black pit of depression, the kind where you can neither move nor speak. I will accept that, although since he has two jobs that he has to go to nearly every day, a depression that intense would be a luxury that he does not have time for.

Well, I'm glad that I'm seeing my therapist today.

So yesterday was the first movie of the SAG Film Society for this season. Yes, I actually got my membership back this year for the first time in two years!

And actually, it started this weekend and I missed two movies already by going to JournalCon, but those were extras, the first real screening was yesterday and the day before. It's this weird thing, what you pay for is twenty screenings over nine months and that's what you pay for, but all of a sudden, they are adding all of these extra bonus screenings! I mean, back when I was last a member, there were maybe three or four in the whole nine months, but this year when the calendar first came out there were already 16 bonus screenings planned, and that's only between now and November!

Anyway, yesterday was the first real screening, and of course I nearly missed it, racing up the street, so that was just like usual. The movie was Mystic River, and it was just lovely. The performances were so strong, the story wasn't over-explained--I think what I liked the best was the fact that it was assumed that the audience didn't need to have everything clonked over their collective heads, that maybe we could think and pay attention and so on.

It's a very painful movie, but not so much so that you wish that you had stayed home.

The ride into town couldn't have been a greater contrast with the day before, I flew in with not only no traffic at all, but it was my own private van!
