(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

8 October

Yesterday we had a short rehearsal, Acts II and III only, because I had a ticket to go see Eddie Izzard!

Normally that would be a bad thing, my cutting out of a rehearsal to see a show, but I had bought the ticket before I had accepted the show, so the short rehearsal was planned from the beginning. And the ticket cost $60 so I had no intention of wasting it.

And the show was great! It was a little rambly at times, could use some tightening, but it was great fun. And the encore is one of the best stand-alone bits that he has ever done, I was absolutely weeping with laughter.

Still no goddamn tambourine, and we open tomorrow. Fortunately, Kelly has a small tambourine-sized jingle-bell wreath that we have been using as a stand-in, and frankly it's fine.

If anyone asks, that's what Norwegian tambourines looked like in 1879. It's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Today's horoscope:
Guest and host are stuck in an uneasy dance of manners. Unless you're a master of etiquette, there's no graceful ending to this. You'll do better on neutral ground once you get into the habit of thinking on your feet.

Back to NY. 6.30a flight. Can only speak monosyllables. Wait, word "monosyllable" not monosyllabic, therefor must be able to speak polysyllables. Just don't want to.
