(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

14 November

I was awakened this morning by a knock at the upstairs door. Usually I don't hear those knocks, but there was this thump thump thump and then the dog went crazy, so I threw on some clothes and raced out the door.

It was the UPS guy! My props are starting to arrive! And since we open in six days, it's about goddamn time! I got the mason jars, and then I also saw a priority mail box propped against the door, and that was the inner tube that the wonderful Bruce kindly got for me. It's not actually a tractor tube, but you know what? This is NYC, nobody in the audience is going to notice, I'll put a few patches on it and it'll be perfect.

And then I checked by the inside door to see whether anything else had arrived since I haven't checked the mail in a couple of days, and my Folgers coffee can had arrived as well. Yay! But where is the fucking gas can? I bought it two weeks ago! It's the tambourine all over again.

So yesterday was therapy and the box office for the one acts and rehearsal and blah blah blah. I am so sick of all of it, I really am. What I need is a complete day off where I don't have a thing to do.

And that is today! O yes it is! There's a show tonight, but I had booked two people for it, one of whom can run the box by herself with no difficulty. I was going to be there anyway, I don't know why I booked two, but then I suddenly thought that since I don't have a rehearsal either, perhaps I'd take the night off. And I am!

I cannot remember the last time that I not only had an evening free, no show or rehearsal, but also no appointments during the day, no therapy or anything. Now, I actually have 10,000 things to do today, I have props to find and boxes and all sorts of things, but the point is that I don't have anywhere to be at any specific time, and that feeling of freedom about takes the top of my head off.

Maybe I'll even write a couple of entries! Well, a girl can dream...

Today's horoscope:
Matchmakers and nosy neighbors give the element of chance a helping hand. Virgo is in the right place for new things to happen. Welcome visitors without scanning their luggage for gifts.

One year ago today:
So this roller-coaster ride that started what, in the end of August? Beginning of September? Is finally at the top of the big drop.
