25 May So yesterday I went to yoga again. I only have a few classes before Donna leaves and I am damn well not missing any of them! Afterwards was the First Readthrough of Moon at long last. Of course, we haven't got a brother yet and Omar was a couple of hours late so we did his scene completely out of order, which means that we didn't actually do a real read-through of the entire show in the order in which it appears, but since the real bulk of the play is me and Fran and Philip, we have had the First Readthrough.
And I took Omar down to my apartment, to the Apartment of Doom. And he looked around all big-eyed, and was frankly kind of horrified, though basically it will only go up from here. I think it's better that he see it in this state and then the next time if it's even a little big cleaner, it will be impressive! He said, "I will never be disappointed." He also said, which made me laugh, "There are a lot of really horrible people with really nice apartments, and you are a really nice person..." "With a really horrible apartment?" I finished. Apparently, his wife's apartment was as bad when he first met her, as was Sam's. Apparently he draws really messy people to him. His inner Felix calls to our inner Oscars. We were going to watch Evil Dead II, but he spied Pee-Wee's Big Adventure on my DVD shelf and so we lay on the bed and watched that instead. I had forgotten a little how funny that movie is, and we both have the same favourite line, "Do you have any dreams?" "Yeah, I'm all alone, I'm rolling a big donut and this snake wearing a vest..." It was really sweet, at one point he fell asleep, his head against my head. It was for only five minutes, but I wish he hadn't awakened so quickly, it was such a lovely moment.
Lenten entries missed: Cindy went to Louisville, also went over to the dark side, showed off her belly-dancing costume, went over all orange, and had some doubts about continuing to teach dance.
