(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

11 May

So yesterday I was going to go to yoga for the first time in three weeks (missed two weeks due to stomach cramps and tech), but I was so tired when I woke up that I decided to go back to sleep for a couple more hours instead.

There was a matinee at the theatre, which was extremely light, a lovely treat to have such an easy time of it, if rather boring. I had to leave early in order to meet Omar at X2, third time being the charm and we really did see it this time.

I thought the movie was swell, absolutely great, though I did have to keep explaining things to Omar, who had forgotten the details of the original movie: "No, he's dead, that's Mystique." "Rogue can take another mutant's powers by touching them, that's why she can stop what he did."

My one complaint is that Wolverine spent the entire film entirely clothed, which was extremely upsetting. He was only shirtless once, and the camera was way too close to get a decent look. Honestly, what a blown opportunity. At least he was covered in blood for that shot, so there was a little treat for me. Omar was happy, though, as he is all into Mystique and she was really featured. And Alan Cumming was excellent.

Clearly I need to see this a few more times this summer.

The shows were extremely busy for the evening performances, the audience for our show was just great, the best ever. The show went the best ever and the audience was the best ever, whenever that happens I always wonder what came first, the supportive audience, laughing and enjoying the show or the actors giving the best performances ever?

The most amazing thing that has happened during this show was not anything in my show, but something from the 7p evening. There was a guy involved in this evening that I utterly cannot stand, haven't been able to for simply years, and he was so great during the run, he completely took charge in making certain that his extremely long show came down before 9p. Not only that, but he even was flirting with me last night! What, may I ask, is up with that?

So I put hot compresses on Monty's face until it popped. Mary-Ellen recommended something called Bacitracin from when her cat had the same thing. I'll pick some up and see whether it will stop this happening over and over again.

Lenten entries missed:

Erin went to Club Med, made a list of things to cling to in these troubled times, got attacked on the street, found her own grownup drink, turned 27 (man, does everyone have their birthday during Lent?), and got engaged!! (man, did everyone get engaged during Lent?) Congrats Erin and Erik!
