(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

31 March

Wow, a year ago today was Easter, but this year it isn't Easter for another three weeks! What is up with that?

I am sick of being off journals for Lent, although this year Lent co-incided nicely with the start of the war, which meant that I haven't had to read anything about it, which certainly works for me, because I don't watch that show.

Have I mentioned that I don't watch that show? Because I don't watch that show, and if anyone starts talking about the war to me, which thankfully happens very infrequently, I tell them clearly that I. Really. Don't. Watch. That. Show.

So tonight is the reading for The Milk Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore. We cast the thing months ago, really in January or early February, I think, and we have spent the last couple of weeks going through the replacement cha-cha-cha. This is one of the problems of casting too early.

One of the first people we cast was Tony and he suddenly realized a few days ago that he couldn't do it, so I cast Gregg David, who kindly agreed to step in at the last minute. We cast Libby as the lead, and several weeks ago she had to step out due to having a rehearsal conflict, so we cast Jackie. Well, Saturday night when I got back from the movies I had a message from her saying that her husband's aunt had died and they had to leave town for the funeral. So I stepped into the role.

The funny thing is that when Omar first mentioned this show, he wanted me to play the lead, but since we were doing it right in a row from Moon For the Misbegotten, I didn't think I should do two huge leads in a row, so that was when Omar thought of Libby, who would have been great. As would have Jackie. But now it's gonna be me.

Of course, I hadn't read the play, since I wasn't going to be in it and why not just enjoy it and have the actors read it to me, which means that I spent yesterday reading the damn play. What a great role! Of course, I'm all wrong for it physically and I'm way too young, but I can play the fuck out of that part.

I've gotta work on all that Italian. She's not supposed to speak very good Italian, but I am way too egotistical about my ability with dialects to do badly. Plus Omar's cousin will be reading as well, and she speaks Italian, so I don't want to make mistakes in front of her.

This is a job for Dawn!

What the hell happened to spring? It was spring a couple of days ago, and now it is so completely not spring that it snowed yesterday!

Today's horoscope:
This isn't your idea of fun, but this is the week that you've been given. It's rude for the guest to complain, but it's unthinkable for the host to utter a single dissatisfied word. Make a more realistic schedule.

One year ago today:
