(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

12 March

So, after telling my mother that I have been doing them for weeks and months, I did my taxes yesterday. And it took like an hour and a half. Every single year it's the same thing, I put it off forever and then it's the fastest, easiest thing in the entire world. When will I ever learn?

Considering that I am 38 years old, seemingly never.

Last night was the reading of Suddenly Last Summer, and it was terrific, the best reading that we ever had with the strongest cast that we ever had. Ellen was brilliant as Catharine, Ann was amazing as Mrs. Venable, and Libby was astonishing as Mrs. Holly. Providing able support were Gabriella and Gemma and Chris and Omar, and I read the stage directions as though I were weaving a spell or telling a bedtime story. We were great.

Unfortunately, there was absolutely nobody there. And by nobody, I mean three people. Which is nobody. Thank heavens Ellen brought a date, otherwise it would only be Omar's harem, and they don't count because they have to be there!

I didn't mind so much, because I'm very much in the "the work is its own reward" camp, but Omar was very upset. There's got to be something that we can do to get more audience out for these. Classic plays read by terrific actors, and it's free, what is wrong with people?

Afterwards, we went back to Omar's apartment to watch Bridget Jones' Diary. I had lent him the book and he really liked it, and we were going to watch the DVD in Lancaster before my computer decided that it didn't so much want to work all of the time, so he rented it for us to watch.

I do love that movie. Though I still watch it saying, "Hey, I'm overweight and over 30, when are Colin Firth and Hugh Grant going to start fighting over me?"

Omar loved it, too, though he was filled with jealousy for Hugh Grant's white boy hair since what he himself has is Spanish boy hair. He was also quite startled at the size of Renee's jugs, since in Chicago she was flat as an eight year old boy. I said that she gained some weight and turned into a woman for this role--too bad she took it off again, as we both thought she was much more attractive with a little size to her.

Today's horoscope:
You do your best coaching when you have a team with known elements. Although no one elected you leader, you're obviously the most capable person for that position. Stay close to the original plan.

One year ago today:
"Well, next week's check run is going to be great, it's going to be easy, I'm going to be able to pay everything, and you are not going to take it away from me, I'm going to do that check run, too!"
