(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

25 June

I woke up this morning, and was waiting for ages for the alarm to ring, kind of drifting in and out of sleep, but it didn't and it didn't and it didn't, and I thought that maybe I had turned it off in my sleep or something. It felt like it was around 1.30p.

I turned over and looked at the clock, and it was 9.30a! I felt pretty rested, weirdly, considering how late I had gone to bed last night.

I spent the day downloading songs for Cynthia to use for music in the show and sewing my garters. I was going to go into the city to get the elastic, but had a brilliant thought that maybe the cleaners near my house might have some, and through a little bit of sign language I found that they did, and for $2 got enough to make myself two fine garters.

That were much too big, because I measured them too far up on my thighs, but with strategic use of a couple of safety pins, they should be fine for the opening tonight.

Cynthia and I got to the theatre later than we wanted to, but it wasn't so bad, and the nasty people in the show next door were much nicer than they had been on Monday. The dressing rooms are ajoining, you see, and our entrance from the dressing room...hell, it's complicated.

But suffice it to say that we need to leave the door open for the show, since nothing is worse than a character having to open a door when they are supposed to be outside, which means that the other actors need to be quiet in their dressing room. Which it didn't seem as though they would be interested in doing the day before.

The run went well, though Fran insanely got the bottle before I told him to get the bottle and we were off on blocking, but it worked out because later on when I was supposed to tell him to get the bottle (and I couldn't just cut the lines, they led to a bunch of other stuff that was really important), he took one step away with it so I was able to say my line while only appearing to be slightly insane.

O yeah, and in Act IV we were in different parts of the play for awhile, but all in all, it wasn't bad. Opening tonight. At last.

Today's horoscope:
Many religions and philosophies use dialogue as a study method. With some spicy elements in your astral forecast, you get deeply intellectual while retaining your humanity. Work with a mediator that knows the subject.

One year ago today:
Last night I found out for sure that it's summer by the ceremonial Removal of the First Glow Bug of the Year from my house.
