(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

23 June

So we had another runthrough yesterday without me and Fran having time to work Act II/III at all, and magically, it worked out okay anyway!

We did it without stopping, and though there were errors, we kept going and said most of the lines in more or less the correct order with some sort of general emotion behind it and so on.

It was quite a relief! Tonight we are doing it for Le in the theatre, and we're supposed to be at performance level, so it was kind of, well, just in time!

After rehearsal I went in to the theatre for strike and to see Omar's closing night performance.

I knew that we weren't going out afterwards, and was cool with it, but about five minutes after we said goodnight, he called me from the street and asked me if I wanted to go out anyway, which was great. I helped strike, then met him at the bar, where I immediately knocked a glass of water into his lap.

We had a nice time, even though people kept insisting on joining us. One guy sat down with us for awhile, and I certainly like him, but I just sat there waiting for him to catch a clue and beat it, leaving Omar to keep the conversational ball in the air. Omar thought that that was frankly hilarious. I'm nothing if not subtle.

After he left and the second person came and left, I switched sides on the booth and sat next to Omar, because that way, at least if someone else couldn't take a hint, they wouldn't be sitting with him, I would.

So we had dinner and snuggled and had a swell time, then I made him walk me to Duane Read to buy hair dye. "O come on, you don't need me to go to Duane Read!" "It's two feet down the street! But okay, if you don't want to go, that's just fine by me." "Whose idea was it that was go out tonight?" "It was yours." "That's right, it was."

When I got home, the TV was on the Game Show Network, since I had TiVoed the new Chuck Woollery reality show (not actually what one would call good, but not too awful), and Match Game was on.

An actor whom I actually had forgot existed was on it, Bart Braverman. I had a huge crush on him when I was a kid, and it's quite astonishing how much he looks like Omar. But I digress.

There is a reason that I never have watched the Game Show Network before, and it's because I knew that once sucked in, I would be lost forever. Match Game was my favourite game show in the whole wide world when I was a kid, and they play it three times a day! Thank goodness Tattletales is only on once a week, or I'd be lost forever.

I guess it's lucky I'm unemployed!

Today's horoscope:
Keep looking for some practical application of yesterday's insight. Almost isn't good enough for you. Hovering on the edge of certainty leaves your whole team edgy and unusually anxious.

One year ago today:
"What do they mean by indefinitely?"
"They mean call your boss and tell him you might not be at work on Monday morning."
