4 June So yesterday I was sitting around the house as I am wont to do, when I decided to get off my duff and go into the city and run a couple of errands. I realized that I had to pay for the rights to Moon, which I hadn't done yet (whoops!) but they weren't due for a couple of days, so I sent the check from the post office in the city so it would get there by today, then I went to SAG to pay my back dues. Of course, when I got there, they weren't there anymore but had moved across town, so I had to rush and got there literally about a minute before they closed, but they took my money and I'm paid up in time to join the Film Society. Not that they'll send me an application, as the woman told me, but the second Cynthia gets hers I will run over to SAG that very day and pick one up and mail it in. I will not miss out again this year. And thus I swear.
While I was in the city I got a call from Cynthia asking me whether I had forgotten that I had promised to babysit while she went on an audition. That I had! So I ran home after SAG and saved the day. Though I got caught in traffic and the rain and was a minute or two late, it was okay. I watched the AFI 100 Greatest Heroes and Villains special, which was fun. They had some really deserving people on the list, Like Regina in The Little Foxes and Verbal Kint and Harry Lime and the Wicked Queen in Snow White, by far Disney's scariest villain, though I beg to differ that Regan McNeil was a villain in The Exorcist--the devil was the villain, not Regan! My favourite thing was the clip for Boys Town, though, they only had to show one second of that scene when Pee-Wee is hit by the car and Whitey is crying with him in his arms and I was weeping like a faucet. And Atticus Finch as the number one hero was a great choice. Good work, AFI! Then around 11p or so, Fran made us rehearse, which was annoying of him, as we hadn't planned it. I still really suck. I'm vaguely wondering if I will get better soon, because tick tick.
Lenten entries missed: Byrne decided to start writing again! He realized that glass is treacherous, wondered if it was all pointless, was outsmarted by his lunch and started working out like crazy.
