It's raining right now, boy do I hope that this really does break the heat. This awful, this dreadful, this nightmarish heat. Yay rain! Who thought two weeks ago when it wouldn't stop raining that anyone would say that seriously, but I mean it with all my heart.

So after that very descriptive entry of yesterday's where I'm all about the lying in bed, didn't spend the entire day in bed, you'll be happy to know that I did not, in fact, waste the entire day in bed, no matter how much I wanted to.

I had to get the finished pictures and give them to Michelle, so I did that very thing. Which means that even though I spend most of the day lounging indolently, I did end up doing One Thing, which made it into a day of great accomplishment.

Amazing how it works that way!

Not to mention the fact that the pictures turned out really good. I really love this new lab! I always think that I am a hack and that every time I do a job my true hack nature will be revealed at last, so it's always a nice treat to see the finished product and see that I dodged that bullet one more time.

Saw this Tribute to Johnny Cash thing on Trio yesterday, which was really good. Funny how I keep thinking that Keb' Mo' is a hip-hop artist, but he's a blues singer. Must be those apostrophes. His cover of "Folsom Prison Blues" is spectacular.

They showed this video for Johnny's cover if NIN's "Hurt" that just about broke my heart. I'm sure everyone else on earth has seen it, but I don't watch MTV. It shows him as he is now, exactly as he is now, intercut with clips of when he was young and beautiful. And June was in the video as well, which meant that they shot it before she died. Which made it incredibly moving.
