26 August So last night at a quarter to ten I was so tired that I thought that hey, why not go to bed? So I did. I was in bed at 10p. Then I was awake at 2a. And I thought, "This is why you don't got to sleep at 10p." I ended up falling back to sleep around 3a and sleeping through until 8a, then dozing until 9a. So really, I went to sleep hours before I normally do and waking properly at the exact time I always do. I guess I really needed that sleep.
I just got officially sick of how hard it was to type with those nails and cut them all off. It's okay, though, since it only took me a month to grow them and I can start growing them again right away, because I really loved the way they made my hands look. This is the great thing about nails. If you cut your hair all off, you have years to wait before it gets decently long again, my nails will be nice and long again in mid-September.
So yesterday I basically just lay around like a lump after returning my beautiful truck to Enterprise. I am madly in love with that truck, madly. I have never loved a car so much, not never not nohow, if I had money and could buy a car, I'd get that Chevy Silverado in a heartbeat. Only maybe black instead of silver. It broke my heart giving it back. Nobody else will appreciate him the way we did. So yeah, I realized that it was 10a and the truck was still parked in the "Residents only from 9a to noon" area, so I got it (no ticket), then drove it back to my house and parked on the street for a few minutes (also a resident only block), went into the house for a few minutes, then came back and was pulling out just as the little old parking ticket guy was coming up to me. He knocked on my window and made me stop and asked if I had a resident parking pass, and I said no, but that I lived on the block and it was a rental car. He said that next time I should put a note on the windshield, because they didn't want to ticket residents, they wanted to ticket those bad people who want to take all of our parking places and then take the bus into New York. Isn't that a cute small-town thing? "Hi, don't ticket me, I live here!"
After returning the car I didn't do much besides call unemployment and ask when they were planning to send me checks again, because since I worked the French Festival for two week, I didn't file and they have been holding up my checks since then. Nicely, the guy said that they had just been released, which means that I'll be getting three checks this week right before rent is due, thank goodness. The funny thing is that Sally, my astrologer, had told me that from mid-July to mid-August I should spend no money, that the universe would be telling me that I was rich but that I shouldn't spend any money that I didn't have to because the universe was lying. And of course, I did make a bunch of money over the French, but then didn't get any money over the rest of the month of August and it was a damn good thing that I didn't spend all that money, what with the fact that I am still living on it.
Omar rang me yesterday and we talked for an hour. He said that after I dropped him off at his wife and daughter's house, they told him that he looked great, rested and happy and glowing. "What did you and Kymm do this weekend? Why do you look so good?" He showed the pictures to some of his friends, and it went over well in some cases and others, not so much. There are people in his life who did not care for the pictures that we took together, especially the fact that I took them, and he's pretty fucking over people trying to change him or tell him what he can do. Honestly, anyone who would try to give him an ultimatum is an idiot, as he's the most stubborn person alive. Have they not met him?
