(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

14 August

So yesterday was back to the show.

I think I forgot to tell me about this show, but the director called me on Friday and asked me if I could help her with the accents for her show. "Um, don't you open on Wednesday?" "Yeah." "I'm not certain what good I can do, since this is the kind of thing that you need to do before the lines are actually learned."

I was going to meet them on Saturday, but she wasn't able to change her rehearsal time, so I saw them on Sunday only. I really really didn't want to, at the end of that awful, nightmarish week, spend three hours listening to bad Irish accents, but it ended up not being so bad. They were much less awful than I had been led to believe.

One boy in particular was quite good. He impressed me at the French a couple of weeks ago by standing by the stage door and opening it whenever anyone came in, so I liked him already, but then he exhibited a lovely Irish accent that only needed a bit of tweaking, so now he has my heart completely.

Only one was completely horrible, and he had very little to do, thank goodness. I did have to yell at them in that the playwright had not helped them by putting in a lot of "yous"es, which of course should be pronounced "yiz", but they were "yous"ing all over the place like the Bowery Boys. Also, they insanely were pronouncing "ye" as "yee", like "Ye Olde Shoppe" rather than the "yeh" that everyone knows it is.

So that show opened last night. I like full-lengths, because there's nothing much to do after the show starts and I can go home as soon as the intermission is over, so it makes for a short evening.

Before I opened the box office, I was distracted by someone from the other show having pizza, and I realized that I hadn't eaten yet, so I went out to get something. As I was walking down the street, I heard my name and turned around, and it was Omar.

I was so glad to see him, I hadn't seen him since everything happened last week, so it was a real treat. He joined me for my pizza and complimenting me on my visible weight-loss. We talked and flirted and got used to each other again. It was nice, it really was.

Is it weird to watch Queer Eye and think that my fella would be better on that show than one of the guys that's on it? The only one I don't like is Jai. Would I still not like him if I didn't know that Omar knows him? And doesn't think much of him? Would I not like Kyan if Omar knew him? No, I don't think it's possible not to like Kyan. Not with those sideburns.

It's a little complex, being in love with a bisexual man...but it's never not interesting.

Today's horoscope:
Perfection is a luxury when energy floods your landscape. Virgo will settle for the purely functional. You're happy with dissecting, categorizing and making recommendations based on your findings.

One year ago today:
Had it won, I would have thrown myself into an electric fan, but fortunately, even the insane French judge shunned it utterly.
