(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

28 April

God, I woke up yesterday with such a hangover! Surprising, since I actually hadn't been drinking, but I guess I was just getting into the party spirit.

I had this weird dream, too, it was like the actor's nightmare to end all actor's nightmares. I was doing Women again, but without Omar, and it was opening night and we hadn't rehearsed at all and I hadn't gotten my places call and I realized that the show had started 20 minutes ago without me and the other actors were just vamping!

I ran onto the stage, but it turns out that it wasn't opening night, it was rehearsal, I knew this because the director came out and told me. But the director wasn't Le, it was That Man! And that was what really made it a nightmare! The fact that the dream went on and I again missed my entrance, but this time it really was opening night didn't have a patch on that moment of real horror.

Anyway, Elizabeth and her friend went home and Melissa and I went out to breakfast near the train station.

When we were there I realized that I had forgotten my Entertainment Weekly magazine and my baseball cap at the house, so we went back before I caught my train. Only later did it occur to me that I had gotten the $3 magazine and the free cap that I don't even like but wear when it rains but forgot my $400 camera on the coffee table. Do I have my priorities straight or what?

Anyway, the trip home was uneventful, but for the fact that they have it carefully planned out so that the train from Melissa's house misses the train to Trenton by six minutes and then you have to wait an hour for the next one. Thanks, Pennsylvania Transit Authority!

I got home by a little after 6p for Cynthia's birthday party (and don't think I don't know that it was bad planning on my part to have two of my best friends be born on the same day), already underway in the backyard. I was going to make a cake, but that ended up not happening, but fortunately Omar had brought a carrot cake from The Little Pie Company, so disaster was averted.

We had a great time, and when the children were in bed, we watched Evil Dead. Omar and I were up for continuing with Evil Dead 2, but we were voted down, and it was both Cynthia's birthday and her living room, so she got to choose.

So, after not seeing or speaking to Omar for two weeks, we saw each other two days in a row and had plenty of quality time. Now that's more like it.

Lenten entries missed:

Ian, quite startlingly, updated several times during Lent! Was he unwell? Is he a changeling? Whatever the reason, I'm not looking a bunch of new entries in the mouth, particularly when they are on such fascinating subjects as the Book and Pie Club, an actual Tub of Pizza, his About Me page or lack thereof, going to Disneyland with Mo, and something peculiar about unemployment.

Today's horoscope:
Face reality: Your resources can stretch only so far. Coworkers and civil servants are unimpressed by your claims. The thing that you'd like to share may be taken out of your hands altogether.

One year ago today:
The thing that made me laugh was the mental picture I got of these Moroccans saying "We are on a mission! We must open a restaurant and share our authentic culture and food and sensibility with the people of suburban Pennsylvania!"
