21 April Weirdly, both of my horoscopes that I get emailed to me say that today will be the most wonderful day in the history of the world. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for the usual one that I include, and this is the other: "Today is going to be your lucky day, KYMM. You can expect to receive a windfall of some sort, either in the form of a check that comes in the mail, or a raise or promotion at work. This is just what you have been hoping for to elevate your lifestyle to the next level. Don't go nuts with your new riches, however. If you invest it wisely it will continue to keep you rolling in the dough. Spend it all at once and you won't have much to show for it in a few years' time." So wealth and fame and luck and glory are all coming to me today! I wasn't actually planning on leaving the house today, will a truck filled with money back into the driveway? It's 3.20p as I write this, are they running late? Hopefully it won't be like the UPS man who never knocks on the door.
So yesterday I did absolutely bugger all. It will be quite an exercise to actually squeeze an entry out of all that nothing. I have my lovely new laptop, so I celebrated by spending the day in bed with it. Well, that sounds as though it is a bit more of a full-service laptop than it actually is, but no, my relationship with my laptop is merely platonic. All we did was type, I swear! I forget, though, how much pain I end up in when I spend the day in bed--an aching back, an aching neck. Not an aching thumb, though, because thanks to the great and glorious Dawn Montgomery, I switched the trackpad buttons. I keep getting confused, because my dyslexia kicks in, but it definitely helps the hand cramping. She also told me how to get the Netscape mail icon onto the bottom of my screen. Dawn Montgomery is just the greatest person living. The weirdest thing about yesterday was that I didn't turn on the TV all day. Wait, that's not true, as I did watch Ebert and Not-Siskel, but that goes without saying. But after it was over I turned it off and never looked back. I cannot remember the last day that I spent without watching TV. Actually I can, it was in Lancaster, but the last TV-free day I spent in my own home is lost in the mists of time. So I just read journals (yay for the end of Lent!) and listened to cds, pulling songs off and putting them on playlists and so on. Actually having a harddrive big enough to do that with is glorious. Every so often I would look at the clock and hours would have gone by. I think I am coming unstuck in time. I spent the last week only ever leaving the house when I ran out of Pepsi, and I only went into the city once. I think I need to get moving soon or I will start to grow moss.
Lenten Entries Missed: Pamie explained eloquently and succinctly that she loves television, was officially re-named Pamlea (hey, if it's on the spine of a book, it's real), celebrated her birthday week like she's twenty-eight, and embraced the snark.
