(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

4 September

So of course, after the long weekend of raininess I awoke today to the most simply lovely day that was ever thought up in the mind of God. And I got to spend it in my windowless office, and since I have been bringing my lunch to work, I don't even step outside for a minute during the day. It might as well be the middle of the night, that's how much sunlight I see.

I'll bet it will be this pretty all week and then piss down rain again next weekend, that's what I'll bet.

Speaking of bringing in lunch and Weight Watchers and so on, for lunch brought in rice, because I love rice very much, I don't need anything else, and it's only 2 points per half cup. I was drinking water, because I save my soda for dinnertime.

So I was sitting there, having my rice and water for lunch and suddenly I felt like a political prisoner.

I was watching my new favourite show on the Food Network, A Cook's Tour, and they mentioned in passing that babaganouch is made out of eggplant.

Eggplant! Eggplant! I hate eggplant! But when I went to the Moroccan restaurant for Melissa's birthday, I ate all of the babaganouch! I sucked it down and licked the bowl, slapping other people's hands away, and nobody had the goodness to tell me that it was motherfucking eggplant!

But last night I went to the fancy store on Broadway that carries my Chicken and Dumplings soup, and I was looking in the pre-made food section, and there was some babaganouch. So I got it.

Don't tell me I'm turning into the kind of person who will try different foods, because I really will not believe you.

I called one of our vendors yesterday, a bakery, and while I was on hold, their hold tape said to me, in enthusiastic tones: "We've got more rugalah than you can imagine!"

I don't know, I can imagine quite a bit.

Today's horoscope:
You and your spouse notice different things and what one misses drives the other crazy. It's normal; relax and don't sweat it.

One year ago today:
Lord, I was awake for half the night. There is a reason why, and it's called tortellini after 11p.
