(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

19 November

You know what happened yesterday? You know what I had? A day off! An actual day off! Not from work, it was Monday and the office is where I had to spend the day, but there was no show. No rehearsal, no show, no actors, no heartache.

I got up at 7a, got to work at 8.40a, it seemed almost like a normal thing to do. I had left shit all over my desk so I had to, meaning to come in over the weekend. I had to get to my desk before The Raccoon got in, and that's exactly what I did. I stayed late, too, though I didn't get as much done as I meant to.

When I got home, I finally finished the damn tape, the mix tape that I use as pre-show and between-acts music. I had half of it done before we opened, then did half of the other side a few days ago before Cynthia's tape deck stopped working. Last night I attached her old tape deck and finished that tape.

The first thing I put on was Tex Ritter's "Jingle Jangle Jingle". Cynthia said, "Um, isn't that a little cheerful for Orpheus Descending?" "You don't like Tex Ritter?" "I have no objection to the song, I just am not entirely certain that it's appropriate for the show!" "Listen to the lyrics, it's about a guy who knocks up girls and abandons them, it's Valentine's song for when he's on his way to Two River County."

O, and I bought the Joan Baez cd that I need for the top of Act II at last. So for the second week of the show I finally will have all of my sound cues!

Today's horoscope:
When you have the right presentation, you only need to show it once. Your mind is restless, but you're patient with others. Some of the world's great questions will be answered by the time you're done.
