The show was, wait for it, great again last night!

I was so certain that Winni had blown her wad on Saturday with her family in the audience, but she was just as strong last night. It seems as though she has really kicked in. And the monkey monologue sent chills down my spine, it was absolutely amazing, not funny at all.

Omar, I wanted to kill, though. The end of Act II has never worked. It works in my head, he walks away from her, she turns and stops him with her line, he turns, smiles, backs to the door, she follows, and they go into his room together. It has never happened that way, not ever. It's a timing issue, and they can't get it right.

But last night when she stopped him he was nearly at the door. He could have walked back into the room, but he didn't, he just held out his hand, she joined him, and they went into the room. Yuck! I nearly vomited. I went backstage afterwards and said "Winni, the monkey monologue was brilliant, just astonishing. Omar, I want to talk to you."

After he changed, he came out of the dressing room, and I told him that if he ever did anything like that again, I'd eat him for breakfast. He looked at me from under his eyelashes, "You didn't like it, huh?" "Don't give me that look, it doesn't work when I'm mad at you."

He won't do it again.

I didn't go to work on Saturday, I had left all of my FedExing to do in order to make myself go in, but when I woke up in the morning I realized that I would rather die than not spend an afternoon relaxing at home, so I just went in just before I had to be at the theatre to do said FedExing and decided I'd go in yesterday instead.

I did not, I couldn't bear the thought. I'm going to be so behind by not going in this weekend, but by golly I'll be well-rested.

"This is Mr. Valentine Xavier..."

"What on earth can you do on this earth but catch at whatever comes near you with both hands and hold on until your fingers are broken?"

"I thought it was wrong for polegra and slow starvation to cut them down when the cotton crop died because of army worm or boll weevil..."

"You didn't expect me?"

"I had a lucky night..."

"Why do you ask that?"

"It's natural, you felt lonely..."

"I need you to live, to go on living!"
The moment that I practically killed Omar for wrecking.

"I want you to imagine that you seen a sign that says 'Boy, don't let the sun rise on you in this county'..."

"You understand me, boy?"
