(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

15 March

So yesterday I overslept and didn't make it out of the house in time for my 9.30a Weight Watchers meeting.

I decided to go over anyway and get weighed, but they were locked up. I didn't want to skip another week, so I came back for the 1.15p. What a horrible time to go to WW! It was so crowded, there was such a crush of people, and the meeting leader was just horrendous.

I'm used to quiet, friendly Michael, this woman was a harridan, a shrieking harpy! And everyone had to wear nametags, and it was just so loud that when one woman snuck out, I followed her. Never again, baby.

And by the way, I lost .6 of a pound, so that's 17.6 so far!

I worked late, and when I finished I decided to buckle down and do my taxes. Of course, I've been telling Mom that I've been doing them for three weeks, but I was lying through my teeth.

And by "doing my taxes" I don't mean so much doing my taxes but organizing my photography earnings and receipts to send to Mom so that she can do my taxes. Usually I earn about a penny and spend about a million dollars, but this year I made like $780 and spend like $820, so that was rather startling! I probably won't waste filing at a loss this year when the loss is so small, since I can only do it three out of every five years.

Anyway, the whole thing took me an hour. An hour! I've been putting it off for months and weeks, and it was so easy! That's the story of my life, really, dreading and putting things off and procrastination, and then when I finally force myself to do it, it takes ten minutes and is easy peasy lemon squeezy.

While I was doing the taxes, I watched the wonderful Cube.

It's one of those movies that I always meant to see, and just somehow missed, but I am so glad that I finally got around to it! It's a marvelous story about these people who wake up in a room shaped like a cube, connected to another cube and another and another and more and more, and some of the cubes are booby trapped, and they have no food or water and they don't know why they are there or who put them there.

This is my kind of movie. All twisty story and confusing journey and characters seeming one way and then turning out to be entirely different and everyone has to solve a mystery with no clues, only ideas. I highly recommend it!

And the commentary track is fascinating, because this great-looking movie was made for absolutely no money, and it's really cool to hear what they went through to make it.

I was on the phone with Mom, talking about something or other, and I couldn't think of Lisa Kudrow's name, so I said, "You know, she's Phoebe...Wait! That's it! Phoebe! Phoebe the Bunny!"

You see, the problem with Sylvie the Bunny is that the bunny is a trademarked product, she speaks to me, she inspires me, but I didn't actually sew her up with loving hands at home, and she did in fact come with the name Sylvie, and I figured that it might end up being a problem.

My problem was that I really liked the flow of the name Sylvie the Bunny, and if I was going to change the name, I wanted another name that felt the same, sort of old fashioned and a little flowery and sweet, ending with a y sound, starting with a fricative, but I couldn't think of anything that I liked as well.

Until Phoebe! So now it's Phoebe the Bunny who will be going to Coney Island, once it opens for the season.

Feelings are deep and sensitivities high in love relationships. Tread gently and carefully and a soul-satisfying union is possible.

So I may not have a passport yet, but at least if I do manage to get over there, I won't be sleeping in Green Park!
