(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

20 July

My tooth hurts. And it's peculiar, since it's the crown that hurts, and there is no root on the tooth beneath it, so it has no reason to hurt, since there is nothing to actually hurt!

And yet, it does. It's been hurting for a while, not in a painful way, but just so I felt it, and it's just getting worse and worse. Yesterday was the first day that there was actual pain, and I'm finding chewing to be more and more difficult. It has occurred to me that I never paid the other $125 for my crown, so perhaps they are repossessing it remotely.

I broke down and called my dentist when the gum started swelling and have an appointment Monday. She (his assistant) also called in a prescription for penicillin and for Vicodan. I didn't even have to ask before getting the good stuff! Nothing is better than lovely Percodan, but that's for serious pain. Codeine is for pussies.

Anyway, she also assured me that it wasn't because I didn't pay, but probably because I have not been brushing correctly. Sure, that's what they all say, repo men are sneaky.

The swelling is huge now. It's the size of a small pile of dimes. This should make for an interesting weekend.

So, we opened last night, in the middle of an enormous rainstorm.

We were a little worried that we wouldn't have a house at all, since of course, people are made of sugar and will melt, but we ended up with seven whole people, which was nice. It was almost like an invited dress rehearsal.

Sometimes, a cast needs an audience to approach their potential, and clearly this cast did, because they really rose to the occasion. Alex actually did really know his lines, I about fainted! He looked at his book a couple of times, but not often. Also, occasionally, he would have some emotion in his voice, not necessary in the role, since it's mostly catechism responses.

So apparently, miracles do happen. And the goddamn thing is open, and I can relax at last.

I had the most incredible hair day yesterday.

I thought, when I first got Lush's Forever in Bloom conditioner, that it was the best conditioner in the world, that I never had had better hair on my life because of it. But after a while, it wasn't so great anymore, and I didn't know why.

When I went back, I got some more Forever in Bloom, but I also got some more of the Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo, and I used that combination yesterday morning, and that is what makes my hair feel like whipped cream!

Maybe that doesn't sound like what you want hair to be like, but I swear, it was the softest thing I have ever felt, like cotton, like silk, like honey, like any other manner of cliche you can think of. So my recommendation is no longer of the conditioner alone, but the conditioner in conjunction with the beer shampoo.

I'm sure that's a real load off your mind.
