I dreamt last night that I had gotten rid of a bunch of junk, just cleared a swath through my house and got rid of piles of crap, then, before the garbagemen came, went out to the trash pile and took it all back.
Yep, that sounds like me.
Stopped in Coliseum on my way to work this morning to suck the marrow from the bones of the corpse, and got a couple of decent sucks at that. For 50% off.
It was heartening to see that most of the books left over were pretty dreadful, like Danielle Steele and so on. Man, there were truckloads of her stuff leftover, not to mention plenty of cheesy books on rap and a goodly number of bad children's series books, not a Maud Hart Lovelace or a Diane Duane in sight. There were a couple of Cynthia Voigts, though, that I snapped up, along with a couple of hardcover books that looked reasonably interesting, and at 50% off, who cares if they aren't?
I even got a book that I already have! I love getting books that I already have, because I already know that I love them. Sometimes my reasoning is that they are different editions, like I got a copy of the new hardcover edition of The Talisman to match the Black House that I got for Christmas, but this is an exact copy of the exact edition of Vengeance of the Dancing Gods that I have always had, though it's packed away somewhere, and I bought it anyway! Okay, it's a little peculiar, but it makes me happy and only cost me $2.99! There are more destructive habits, and they are more expensive as well.
Man I have so many books to read. I wish I had someplace to put them.
