(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

18 January

I love the comic strip Get Fuzzy, when I was home I read the paper every day, which I don't in NY, and I just ate it up with a spoon, this one being possibly my favourite individual comic strip of all time.

I have decided to add "I smell potatoes" to my repertoire.

I was having an email conversation with Dorothy where it was mentioned that someone said, "I miss you sometimes," and Dorothy retorted, as an aside, "I eat cheese sometimes," which made me laugh and laugh.

I need to add that to my repertoire as well.

The problem is that I need to be constantly alert like a pointer dog, listening carefully for the chance to say them, but I don't know how often it will happen! For my own sanity I may end up just yelling them out on alternate days.

I smell potatoes!
I eat cheese sometimes!
I eat cheesy smelly potatoes sometimes!!

These phrases will sweep the journalling community! They will be the next "I like string!" You know, or not.

Presents, more presents are coming! I am getting them as late as I am giving them, which is only fair.

Rosemary, at the office, brought by a bottle of wine yesterday, apologizing for being so late. I took it home and put it in the fridge. Right next to the bottle of wine that she gave me last year. I guess I don't drink wine that often! But it's very sweet of her, and it's not like I read the books I get right away either.

I also had a phone conversation with one of my favourite sales reps, who said that he wanted to take me out to dinner when he comes to town next, but it would be such a flying visit that he wouldn't have the time, and was there a restaurant that he could get me a gift certificate for?

I suggested maybe a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble or Virgin, and he asked how about Amazon? Which is just fine by me! I think it's just the sweetest thing, just because I try to take care of him and get him his checks in a timely manner.

It's nice to be appreciated.

Today's horoscope:
You expect the best in your relationship. Don't focus on what's wrong; work toward your ideal (but recognize perfection is impossible).

One year ago today:
Cynthia said that the realization, when it hit him, that this was indeed a four story house with a TVs on the top and bottom floors, and that it would be all about stairs for him all day, was palpable to behold.
