(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

12 February

Dreamt last night that I was fucking Hunter S. Thompson. And yes, it was about a peculiar as one would imagine.

So yesterday I decided to go to Toronto!

I really loved it when I went last year for Cameron's wedding, but I was only there for a couple of days and I didn't really see much of it, so I checked with Travelocity for prices, and doing the fly to Buffalo, bus to Toronto thing is cheap as hell, and so I'm going!

The place that Amanda and I stayed at was a college dorm, so I have to go in the summer when it's open to travelers, and that was so cheap they practically paid us to stay there. I decided to go 4th of July weekend, since the 4th is on a Thursday, I'll take off Wednesday and Friday and have a nice five day weekend. Plus the fact that spending American Independence Day in Canada strikes me amusing.

And what made me think of Toronto in the first place? Why, taking my bath on Sunday with the Lush stuff I got there, that's what! I sat in that slightly roomier tub, and thought that since Canada has such great bath products, I should go back there.

And hey, I still have like $30 Canadian that I never changed back, and that's what, a million dollars American, right?

The Oscar nominations were announced this morning, and I didn't get up for them, but I TiVoed them, and I was thrilled about some things and disappointed about others.

Russell being nominated was a given, and yay Moulin Rouge but I was over the moon about David Lynch getting a nomination for Mulholland Drive, and Ghost World and Memento in the screenplay categories, but honestly, Ethan Hawke? Ethan Hawke rather than Steve Buscemi? That's a heartbreaker, that is.

But I hied me over to Elizabeth's Oscar pool, and you should all do the same! And donate to the pool, everybody, because I plan on winning it and I want a big Amazon gift certificate!

While watching the Olympics

Wow, Ina and Zimmerman just kicked out the jams, didn't they? I'm not even that nuts about pairs skating, but they just had me jumping up and down with excitement. Nothing like watching people skate not only beautifully and cleanly, but with such joy.

And then they were screwed out of the bronze by poor judging. And then again were the Canadians screwed! Usually it's the dance judges who pay no attention to what's on the ice, but instead what they assumed would happen ahead of time, but this year it's the pair judges' turn to have their heads up their collective asses.

I wonder why nobody mentioned the fact that that dullish Russian pair was skating to music from Chess, which was why they were wearing the ugly black and white costumes.

It was so cute that that gold medal half-piper didn't know the words to the national anthem. All he could remember was "O say can you see?" so he repeated it twice, then just sort of vaguely flapped his lips. It was like those Christmas parties where no-one knows the carols, "God rest ye merry gentlemen, let nothing you dismay, lalala something so-omething lalalalala day!"

So, Molly's back, there's an hilarious new Tomato Nation, Never wrote a terrific Valentine's entry, and that's it for me until Easter. Yes, I'm giving up reading journals for Lent again.

Anything important happens, like Amy having her baby, let me know!
