10 December Okay, it's been a couple of weeks, we may just be able to say that the Wild Mouse is gone for now. I have no doubt that it will be back, but I guess it really was specifically show-related no matter how I thought it was about other things, and it has fled away on its little mouse feet and I'm back to my happy-go-lucky, cock-eyed optimistic, grasshopper self. The kind of person who says, "I'm not happy with every little thing in my life, and I want a life-partner and a baby, but I truly believe that these things will come to me and everything will work out just fine in the end, because it always does! La la la la la!!!" Man, I'm glad that this version of me is back seemingly for good and all, I far prefer her to the lugubrious one weeping in the corner.
Cold cold COLD! Was it cold yesterday? Yes, by golly, it surely was. I had finally finished my spiderweb scarf on Sunday, the purple one, the first one that I ever made--of course, it was finished long ago, but I never sewed the ends in. It occurred to me that it's winter now (or as good as), and a scarf might be a clever idea, so I got it all ready to wear yesterday morning and was darn glad of it, as I waited for the bus for fifteen minutes. And you know what? Even though it's really thin and really light, if you wrap it twice around your neck (which you rather need to, since it's eight feet long) it is actually warm! I made a scarf that works! I'm very pleased. So you (so far) four people who are getting scarves for Christmas, fear not, said scarves do in fact do their scarfy best at keeping out the winter chill. And I made them! I'm not even kidding! And clearly I didn't even have to put the bit in above about how I'm all hippety-hopping down the street like a bunny again, because only that version of me would write three squealing paragraphs about a scarf. O, now you're crying "Bring back the weeping willow"? Too damn bad, this is what you get!
There's a new girl at work called Kemi, and every time she gets an overhead page, I think they are calling Kymmie, and it's just freaking me out, because nobody calls me Kymmie at the office! And I think "Is Bonnie paging me?"
I'm really enjoying Holidailies, in that I have discovered several new journals that I really am digging the most. And it's sort of fun not to be obligated to read the whole fucking things, but just start from the now. Of course, when Holidailies is over I'll probably go back and dig into the archives, but for now I'm enjoying these entries hanging out in space without context of any kind. By the way, the ones that I so far have glommed onto with a happy glomminess are Lizardspace, Pine Barrens Debutante, Mind the Gap, Pomegranate Seeds, and Things and Stuff. Three Diarylands and a Diary-X, doesn't anyone buy domains anymore?
