(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

9 December

Christ that weekend was short! Shorter than usual, I think. Maybe it's because of the previous four day weekend and the fact that Christmas vacation is looming like a great loomy thing, but this two day shit just ain't cutting it anymore.

That said, I accidentally got a remarkable amount of things done yesterday. I didn't mean to, but somehow I did in spite of myself. First of all, I got nearly all of the lovely Profit onto tape and no longer clogging up my TiVo (thank you, Trio!). Of course, I already have the entries on old tapes, but they are all higgledy and not to mention piggledy and God only knows where the tapes actually are (the next time I move I swear I'm going to get organized!), so it's nice to get them all together in a row. Boy did I love that show.

Someday I'll get VR-5 all nicely on tapes as well. And someday Wiseguy will come out on DVD and I'll be able to get rid of all of the lovely tapes that I currently have.

But do you think that that is all? That my accomplishments are so few? No no a thousand times no! I also got up at a reasonable hour and not only finished my Christmas mix tape for my mix tape club, and then made most of a second one as well before having to rush off to the darkroom, remembering my wallet this time.

I did not have the magical day that I had on Saturday, barely getting the four shots that I was blowing up for Country Wife done in two hours. These shots were a bitch, lots of cropping, even some burning, I didn't expose them that well, fortunately I got four reasonable pictures out of it, and there are probably more, but it was an uphill battle.

So no more of Melissa's pics, though I did find that they carry 4x6 paper at my darkroom. It's postcard paper, but I don't think that makes much of a difference. It'll be weird getting used to a different size, I've done the very occasional 3x5, but never 4x6. I hope I won't have to fiddle too much.

On my way home, un-accosted by smitten strangers for once, I was passing by Macy's when I glanced up to see that there's a new store on the block, a Modell's store! And by golly did I need new jeans, so I flang myself off the bus and ran in to find something that fit and didn't have a big tear in the ass, I'm not picky.

It has occurred to me lately that the loose-fitting jeans that I generally wear aren't so much doing my ass any favours with the baggy seats, so I decided to get a pair of regular fit. Now, I haven't worn regular fit jeans in years, they usually make my thighs look as though they have been squeezed into sausage casings, which frightens small children, but I found a pair of Wranglers that actually work on me. I think the waist is a smaller size, but since I never remember my waist size, I cannot be certain. They are very comfortable, though, and my butt doesn't look bad in them.

Just like last time, I could have stolen them so easily, Modell's has so security whatsoever, but I'm way too old to shoplift anymore--once you are in your thirties, it would be too embarrassing to get caught. Also just like last time, though, I went up to the register and found that though they were billed as costing $14.99, they really were $10. Good old Modell's!

I see that last time I said what I was about to say now, that I should have bought more than one pair of jeans, but that since I'll be losing more weight, I really don't know what size I should buy, so clearly that is a new Modell's tradition as well.

When I got home I did the end of the second Christmas mix tape, and then made six of the twenty copies that I need to make of each of them, so that's a good start, and then I finished the cherry red scarf! Hold me back, I am a whirlwind of activity!

I started the navy one, which I guess I will finish over Christmas, and maybe I can get a good start on the dove grey one as well and then I will be done. For this year. And I can get started on next year's batch! I swan, in five or six years, I'll be giving them to people that I actually hate because I won't be able to stop knitting them by that time.
