(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

"So, did you do your form yet?"
"What form?"
"For the new insurance."
"We have new insurance?"
"Yeah, remember all those meetings last month about it?"
"There were meetings?"
"And the emails..."
"I didn't get any emails!"
"You got the forms in the mail."
"I did?"
"O yeah, you never open the mail."
"And when do I have to get this form in?"
"That would be today."
"And if I don't get it in today, I won't have any insurance?"
"That's about the size of it."

Does anyone need it explained which half of the above conversation was me? I swear, sometimes I'm startled that I am allowed to wander around freely.

So Omar sent me these song lyrics the other day, a bluegrass redemption song (he's been starting to get into bluegrass since Orpheus), that really struck me as something that I'd like to hear, so I did a search on the web and couldn't find a thing.

That's when it occurred to me that he might have written it. Which, when I asked him at the show the other night, he admitted was true. I asked if he had anyone to write the music, because I knew just the person, my friend Lindsay!

Lindsay is a terrific singer-songwriter, and the best mix-tape maker in the wide world, she has a strong folk background, and I thought that she'd really dig the lyrics. Omar said fine, that I could send her the lyrics, and I did and she liked them, and she's working on the music, a we'll see if maybe a beautiful partnership is born.

I feel like such a pimp!

So we have been discussing what we should do for the next Modern Classic production, and Omar was all gung-ho about The Front Page, but Cynthia and I were fairly certain that we wouldn't be able to do it since it calls for nineteen men and has an expensive set, and we were also looking at Ah, Wilderness, but we had to talk to Le first and if he wanted to direct, then whatever we were thinking about would be moot, because Le would choose what he wanted to choose.

And he has decided that he does want to direct, and he wants to do The Hostage, a mick play from the 50's. We are glad that he wants to direct, but now we're wondering whether he will cast any of the three of us. If we are Modern Classics, then what makes it Modern Classics if we are not in it? However, it does us nothing but good to have Le direct because then we will have more or less a free rein for the rest of the year, and I can direct something for Omar to star in in the summer and then Moon in the fall for me.

And if nothing else, I'll teach the accents. But the last time we did a Northern Irish play I taught the accents and was desperate to be in it. No matter whom I teach the accent to, they aren't going to do it as well as I, God I hope he casts me.

And don't forget, if you want one of my Xmas cards that I have slaved over and made with the sweat of my brow and my own lily-white hands, let me know! And send me your street address for heaven's sake, because I could guess but you really might not get it if I just throw it up into the air.

Today's horoscope:
Although you feel as if you're flying, your wheels are on the ground at all times. For Virgo, efficiency is a kind of love. You take special delight in deep breathing and healthy eating.

And it took my breath away, he looked so fine. I said, "O, Jesus, Brian, that uniform..." "Pretty sharp?" "Yeah..." but sharp wasn't the word I was thinking.
