17 April What an absolutely tiresome day. Yesterday, that is. Today was fine. Yesterday I did the check run, and I really actually enjoy doing the check run, I am given an amount of money and everyone gives their lists of things that they want paid, and I try to pay as much as I can given my budget. It's like doing one of those little square puzzles where you put the numbers in order, or, when it's really hard, like putting together a jigsaw puzzle that is all one colour. Yesterday it was like putting together a puzzle while blindfolded, a puzzle that not only is all one colour, but it keeps changing sizes and people keep kicking it. I put together the run, then The Raccoon looked at it and added a bunch of stuff, so I had to take things off, and then people were getting annoyed for what I wasn't paying, but, as I ended up saying, "I know you think that money just comes flying out of my asshole, but in reality, not so much." I was glaring wildly at everyone and everything, and I realized that I completely hated anyone who spoke to me in any way. The Raccoon will never stop saying, "Now you know what it's like!" She'll be doing the check run next week, because if I had to do it another week in a row, I'd probably end up popping my eyes out like grapes.
Okay, there are 17 people, including myself, in my tape/cd trading group, which is more than 12, but too few to last a year if I double up and do two a month, so I figure that I'll accept people for one more day. The info on how it will work is here. Anyone interested, let me know!"
Lenten entries missed: Lisa is afraid of spiders, saw the Where the Wild Things Are ballet, got a new bookcase, went snowshoeing without sunscreen and shopped for rugs. I like the first one best. And Lisa, you must see Nobody's Fool, it's a completely wonderful movie. Though considering how much you didn't love Moulin Rouge and A Beautiful Mind, I really shouldn't recommend movies to you, but Nobody's Fool is one of those movies that I saw accidentally by flipping around the channels and fell in love with, so the idea of someone else discovering it fills me with glee.
