(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

13 September

I'm reading so many entries who say things like "I don't feel like my words matter," or "I am sorry I keep dwelling on my own emotions," or "So many people have written about this so well already, what can I add?" but they are wrong.

It all matters, all of the words, all of the reactions, no matter how jagged or unpolished or repetitious or self-focussed. We are telling the story of this event, and the more people tell it from their point of view, the more complete this story is. We are making a picture of the event of our generation, the one that all other major events pale beside, and everyone's record is important, including the ones that we may never see, the ones that people are writing down in their journals at home just for themselves or their children.

Don't think what you write doesn't matter, don't think your thoughts and emotions don't matter--they are the only things that matter.
