(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

5 September

Yesterday was a day of cool things happening!

None of the things that happened were the best of all possible things, they all have a step or two to get better, but they were still pretty good.

(ka-boom!)

The first was when I got to work and at last there was an email from Omar! I was beginning to fear that he was dead!

Ty turned me down the other day, because he turned down so much work during Midsummer that he had already booked himself all over September. I was stumped, but then I was talking to Kirsten when she was here, and she suggested that I call Christie, a girl in the company who's a friend of Omar's, that maybe she's have her number, and I did, and she called me back to say yes, that he was on Pennsylvania, and that she didn't have his number with her, but that Debbie did and I should call her, so I called Debbie and...

She never called me back. But that was okay, because Omar finally answered his email yesterday! At first, I thought that he was turning the role down, but then I re-read it and realized that he thought that I had recast, so I sent this absolutely slobbering email about how all I wanted in this wide world was him in my show and how no-one else could possibly be as good and I just sucked his dick all over the place--and the best part was that nothing I said was even remotely exaggerated!

No-one would be as good as him. No-one that I have ever met has the depth and the quality that Omar has. I hope he accepts.

Cool thing #2 was about the John Cleese film.

Mom, you see, still hasn't auditioned for it. When they called her they said that they would all need to go to Santa Barbara for the audition, which is where both Cleese and the director live, and Mom said that she couldn't go on Sunday because she had tickets to the Hollywood Bowl.

Now, they never said that they wanted to go on Sunday, and it was after this revelation that they offered to send her the script, so I didn't think that she had blown everything by saying that she couldn't do Sunday, but she never heard from them after that, and basically was having hysterics.

I told her to call the casting director after hours and leave a message on her machine saying when she was available to go to Santa Barbara--just a little peppy, non-pushy message reminding them that she was alive. I also thought that this might make her calm down and feel as though she was being proactive.

Well, yesterday they called her! And this morning they are putting her on tape, and once they do that they'll see how perfect she is for the part. Honestly, she'll play the hell out of it. And the reason that they didn't call and why they didn't go to Santa Barbara maybe last weekend? Because the director's wife was having a baby last weekend! As I told Mom, not everything is about her, which is certainly the pot calling the kettle egotistical.

So anyway, the audition is this morning. Hold your thumbs for her, everyone!

And the third thing was after going to the dentist (cleaning only, the post goes in next week), I passed this guy on the street and he said, "I like your hair!" (I'd just re-pinkified Monday night) and I turned and grinned and said, "Thank you,"and he said "I like your smile even more!"

Well, okay, that one would have been better if he hadn't been a naked homeless guy, but one takes what one gets.

"Feast versus famine" swings (around food, alcohol, money, etc.) are likely. Allow yourself some human indulgences.

I swear, put anything shiny in front of me and I'm lost.
