(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

29 May

For those not paying attention last night, there are four new entries starting here. I know that means that there is still a gap, but I'll fill it, honest I will! No really, stop that laughing! Philistines.

(all natural!)

For the fourth morning in a row, those rotten kids woke me up with all of their damn tromping around above my head. Of course, this morning I actually got up rather than going back to sleep, since it's back to work today. Sigh.

But this tromping is getting up my nose. I mean, normally these children sit in front of the TV, jaws slack, eyes twirling slowly, why can't they do that in the morning? I blame the TV shows, which do things like say, "Hey kids, let's do jumping jacks! Now march in place! March march march! No, march a little to the left, you're not right over Kymmie's head yet!"

(all natural!)

It was a cold a rainy Memorial Day weekend, though yesterday the sun kept coming out, and I would race outside and bask, then the clouds would move over the sun again and I'd go back inside, all sad and stuff.

Looking outside right now, the sun is beaming, the birds are singing, natch, 'cause it's a work day. The weather was just on the TV and it basically said, "Beautiful today, tomorrow and Thursday, rain and cold Friday and Saturday."

It's gonna be just like last summer, isn't it, where like eighteen out of twenty weekends were rainy. It's a conspiracy!

Now, while I was inside yesterday, I finished my Doubles mix tape, and planned the next one, but didn't start it. This does, however, mean that there will be four tapes to trade, rather than three. The tapes are:

Tape #1 - The mix I made last year and never actually traded, though I did collect names. It's extremely eclectic, ranging from Bif Naked to Barry Manilow to Gene Pitney to soca music to The Coolies.

Tape #2 - "Not Your Mama's Twang", leaning hard on the bluegrass and folk and, well, country, but it's good country, roots or roots-style country! Featuring The Gourds, Asylum Street Spankers, Paul Clayton, Iris Dement and Tom Jones. Because there are a few other things thrown in for fun.

Tape #3 - "Make Mine a Double", two versions of the same or similar songs, mostly folk songs, and I don't mean "The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind," more along the lines of "I'm a rover, seldom sober, I'm a rover of high degree," all very fol-de-rol and tweedle-dee-deedle. Featuring Great Big Sea, Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and The Weavers.

Tape #4 - Not made yet, but I'm ready to. Doubles, part two, more eclectic, more the other kind of folk and bluegrass. Featuring Bacon Brothers and Tennessee Ernie Ford and Simon and Garfunkel and Ralph Stanley.

So, you wanna trade mix tapes? You wanna trade all of them or just one, and if just one, then which one? C'mon, let's do it!

Lenten entries missed:

Heather moved to Las Vegas, lost and found her purse, didn't sell their house and the babies turned one year old.

Today's horoscope:
Part of you wants to be out in the world; the other half yearns to stay at home. You need both; don't let guilt get in your way.

One year ago today:
Acrophobia, something that brings together all races, creeds and colours, into a single squirming ball of drooling and sweating terror.
