(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

18 May

So, last night I worked until 2.30a. Am I insane? Well, no, and I'm getting paid for it, but it wasn't the easiest thing that I have ever done in my life. We are upgrading the system today, and we have to be done done done by 3p, so all of the invoices need to be entered by then. We are one person short, because someone was relieved of his job on Tuesday, the Part-Timer isn't in today, and The Raccoon has piles of other stuff to do, so it's all up to me.

Super-Kymm to the rescue.

It wasn't so bad, really, I had my laptop, I listened to Sense and Sensibility, that great alternate audio track with Emma Thompson. Every time they talk about the farting horse, I always laugh like a drain. I work much faster when there's a movie playing (for instance, right now this very little minute as I type this, I'm watching The Milagro Beanfield War, which I had forgotten how much I love), and I worked like crazy last night!

I left at 2.22a, was home at 2.32a (dig that middle of the night traffic!), and was in bed at 2.37a. And up at 8a. Argh. Kill me.

I have discovered the most wonderful website!

I may be the last DVD owner to find out about it--Bill at work told me he's been a member for two years, but better late than never, I say. 'Cause I'm all original that way, don't you know.

Anyways, it's called NetFlix, and for $20 a month you can rent as many DVDs as you like, three at a time, keep them out as long as you like, no late fees, or send them back as fast as you can so that you can get more. And you make a list of all of the stuff that you want to see and you put it in order and they send them to you, three at a time, and then send you more when you send them back.

Anything involving a list is right up my alley, baby. It's not just renting DVDs, it makes it fun for obsessives! I put almost 900 DVDs on the list the first day, and I'm currently getting sent to me Die Hard, Spinal Tap and, due to bad planning on my part, part one of Pride and Prejudice. I'll send something back right away, probably Die Hard, and get part two as soon as I can.

O, this will be so much fun!

Ah, now I remember why I loved Milagro so much, or rather ,why I watched it so much in the mid-80s, Christopher Walken is in it! That was right smack dab in the middle of my Christopher Walken obsession, and if you think my thing with Russell Crowe is big, you should have seen me back then.

I knitted him a scarf.

Lenten entries missed:

Stef did lots of great things that I cannot link properly, because I cannot make her links work for me, God only knows why.

Today's horoscope:
Tread gently with loved ones today. Criticism may be a problem--from you or from them. Channel nit-picking energy into work.

One year ago today:
I'm almost embarrassed to say that I actually think it's pretty cool. It looks like a dueling scar.
