(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

7 July

So, I have taken over my chair again.

I have this chair, this Ikea chair, let me see if I can find it on the site...nope! Either they no longer sell it or they are keeping it a secret from all those who don't actually pay homage to the store in person.

Anyway, it's a very simple chair, metal frame with wooden arms and a cloth sling and a cushioned back and seat hanging on the frame, and, since I always sit at my desk, this has been the cat's chair for some time, and my heavens it is thick with fur, but I suddenly decided that I wanted to sit in the chair, so I covered it with a quilt and sat.

I may never sit at my desk again.

The only problem with it is that the cats now have one place less to sit, you know, unless they sit on me, which they have been doing with alarming frequency, making it somewhat difficult to have my computer on my lap as well.

And here comes Eggs, just to prove my point.

Speaking of Eggs, Elvis, he has a somewhat hilarious new habit. You see, he his this enormous big freak who constantly fixates on my feet or something, acting all terrified and stuff as though I spend all of my time booting him around the apartment, when in fact he has only ever gotten kicked when he has freaked out directly under them.

His current fixation is the TiVo remote. This remote that looks no different than the other ten remotes that I have lying around, not really, but I have twice caught him staring, bug-eyed, trembling with horror at the sight of this terrifying...small black rectangle. With buttons on it.

So I pick it up and say, "Honey, what's the big..." and he backpedals frantically, falling off the desk in a heap and tearing out of the room as I laugh like a drain.

Monty's new trick is hypnotism.

It's like he read a book called "Teach Yourself Hypnosis For Fun and Profit", because his new thing is sitting on the desk, staring at me, squinching his eyes in a grinny way, sticking his fur out in all directions in a fluffy teddy bear kind of way, splaying his little arms out in a straddly way, purring loudly, "Purr purr PURR", and the whole thing means "Scritch me on the heeeeeaaaaad".

And since I do scritch him on the head, clearly it works.

Baldrick has no new freak tricks. Probably because he was always the biggest freak of them all, and there is no farther to go.

Today's horoscope:
Business and pleasure mix today, be it an office party, celebrating a new job, getting together with colleagues from work, etc.

One year ago today:
I knew that I really wouldn't go in unless I made it inevitable.
