(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

4 July

Boy, do I have alot of back entries to do! But instead I am watching Susan Sarandon in Inside the Actors Studio.

I read somewhere about a James Lipton drinking game, and I don't know about whether this is in it or not, but every time he mentions being on The Guiding Light, which is every time he has a guest who worked on a soap, you should definitely have to take a big fat drink. Or two.

It's so, "I'm an actor too, really, seriously, I am!!"

So yesterday was my first day back at work after my holiday, but since it was the day before a holiday, it was alot less hysterical than one would imagine and I was able to spend the day getting things done, but not all in a rush.

I believe very strongly in having a day off directly after having four days off. My dream is to have every week be like that, but I'm not certain exactly how to go about it. Finding a man to keep me, possibly.

I'll put an ad in the paper, "Wanted, cute guy to make it possible for me to sit around the house, watching TiVo all day...I mean have time to write and take pictures and act and direct! Yeah, that's it, someone to take the money worries away so that I can be an artist, not so that I can be a lazy slut, I swear!"

After my molasses day at work, I was sitting around, thinking about leaving, and Bill, the movie guy at my office, started talking about films, and said that he had seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail in the theatre the other day.

"What, it's been re-released? Since when?"
"A couple of weeks ago, but I think it's about to close. Scary Movie's opening at that theatre, so tonight might be it."
"How did I not hear about this?"

So I checked, and he was right, it was playing at the Cinema 1, 2, 3 over on Third Ave., and the last screening was at 10p, so I killed some time writing more paper entries (I'll get them down here, I promise!) then went across town to catch the movie.

I'm so glad I did! It was really wonderful on the big screen, you see so much more than you do on TV, no matter how many times you've seen it on TV. Though being on the big screen also points up its flaws, like the fact that they hadn't the foggiest how to end the damn thing, which was sort of a grand version of the fact that they rarely knew how to end a sketch on the TV show.

But, what with Tim and the three questions at the bridge, and the Knights Who Say Ni, and the Castle Anthrax, I'll forgive them a shitty ending.

Today's horoscope:
A change in routines is likely. You may alter the tasks, sequences of duties, travel routes, or other "predictable" parts of your day.

One year ago today:
There is something so primal about eating ribs, you know? Like you just took down a mastodon and are buried up to your eyebrows in the animal.
