There's one up for yesterday and all.
A conversation at work:
"You are leaving me? It's not even 5.30p yet, it's only 5.19p!"
"But I got here at 7.30a!"
(Someone else interjecting "You were not here at 7.30a, because I got here at 8.15a and nobody was here but me!")
"Now you've ruined everything."
("You got here at 8.30.")
"I did not, I was here way earlier than that. I was here at 8.25a!"
"Ah well then, I certainly understand your need to desert me at this hour!"
"We are not deserting you, we are..."
"What?"
"Wait, I'll think of it..."
"..."
"..."
"That's what I love, this quick, witty banter."
"I know, it's..."
"No, wait, let me start over. I can't believe that you are deserting me!"
"We are not deserting you, we are (something absolutely unmemorable and
almost completely unintelligible)"
"That was not worth the wait."
A couple minutes later:
"You don't love me AT ALL!"
"Yes, I do love you, but in a strange way."
"The kind of way that makes you go very very far away and me stay here?"
"No, not the kind where I am very very far away. I will come back."
Today's horoscope:
Computerized records could be a factor in financial matters today. Repairs are also a possible focus, as are medicine, tools or friends.
One year ago today:
Katie came down and asked me "Was I ever such brat?" I howled at that, and answered "Was? Ever?" and Fran said "What time is it?"
