(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

16 December

So yesterday I went into work, because I didn't manage to finish everything on Friday, even though I skipped the department Christmas lunch.

When I got to work after becoming a licensed driver in the state of New Jersey, The Raccoon had piled up on my desk all of the stuff that I had to finish before leaving, then was apologetic that I had missed the lunch, saying that she didn't mean for me to stay at my desk, but I told her that I had decided ahead of time that I didn't have time for a three hour lunch, and I was right.

So I came in to work for five hours yesterday, Saturday, after sitting in my apartment and thinking "Maybe I should come in on Sunday instead?" before realizing that that was bad even for me and I went in.

I managed to get everything done before the show, except for my personal stuff, like the remainder of my Christmas cards, so I came back after the show and did them then. I felt very efficient.

So, the show the show the show.

On Thursday, Le came and I was glad that that was the performance that he saw, because it was really strong, really solid. As I came back onstage to change the set and get my blanket, I walked by him in the audience and he said, full voice, "Nice job, Kymm!"

Afterwards, we were walking down the street together and he was telling me how much he liked Brian and me, and I truly believe that the reason that Brian ended up doing such a good job was because of me. He is the kind of actor that follows the strongest person onstage, which was me, and because I was giving a very grounded performance, that grounded him. If I wasn't there, he would have been following Gemma and would have been much more surface.

On Friday, I got a call from Laura during the day that Sheryl wouldn't be at the show that night, because she was doing a professional job out of town and wouldn't be able to get back in time, and did I think that Kelly should do the role? Well, since Kelly did it great at two rehearsals and it's so funny having the nice character and the bitch being played by the same actress, I voted yeah!

And she was great, of course, and it really gave a boot in the ass to the show and made it interesting to all of us again, and it certainly was fun for Kelly to get to do more than her little beensy role of tininess.

On Saturday, the show was a big drag. For the first time we didn't speed through the lines before the show, and I think that gives us energy, no matter how much I dislike doing it.

Man, it was lame. Nobody picked up their cures, there was just hours between each line, and it was draggy and slow and boring and tired. But part of that was the Audience of Death, who weren't just quiet or uninterested, they were actually black holes of doom, sucking every bit of energy from the room, leaving us limp piles of dried bone on the stage floor.

And it wasn't just me who thought that, either, because I walked offstage and said, "Man, that audience sure was an energy-sucker!" then Kelly came into the dressing room and said, "That audience just sucked out all of the energy!" so it was unanimous.

Tonight, we're going to run through the lines, dammit, because I don't want to go through that again.

I have nearly 25,000 PepsiStuff points, and there isn't a goddamn thing to use them on. A Dawson's Creek WinAmp skin digital download? Are they completely mad? Cheap bastards.

I haven't been pimping my wish lists this year, I just realized, so just in order to help the people who really want to get me presents, they are here, here and here.

Today's horoscope:
A change in routines is likely. You may alter the tasks, sequences of duties, travel routes, or other "predictable" parts of your day.

One year ago today:
They have decided that they want to serve us tomato-basil bagels. Who are these people who think that tomatoes and basil belong in a bagel?
