So, on Monday night before the movie I was thinking about Ol' Mange and how pleased I am about it, and then I realized that if I can make one film, I can make another and another, as many as I like! I can cast actors that I admire and do scripts that I like and not really have to answer to anyone but myself.

It's an amazing freedom, that thought, and I can make a movie whenever I feel like it, and I thought "What am I going to do next?" And I had a great idea.

Naked Ambition! Remember the naked farce I did last year with Cynthia and Fran? Well, go here and you'll remember. Funny how I write there that I wanted to make a film out of it, but that I wanted to do Mange first--I didn't remember that before I looked for that link.

Anyway, it's terribly funny, and not really dirty, even with the full-frontal male and female nudity throughout all but a few pages of the script. And certainly a fun film for the crew to shoot, with nekkid people all over the set!

I'm going to play the blind boss, not because Catherine didn't do a swell job, but because I like the role, I don't have to get naked, and it's my movie and I want to be in it!

The main problem would be finding an office to shoot in, preferably one without windows, since it has to be completely dark for a page or so. So I have traded the problem of finding a little boy and two matching dogs for the problem of finding an office where I can shoot with a naked cast!

Is there such a thing as an easy production?

So, I got my almost-final cut from Ed yesterday!

O, it was so thrilling, and I got it out to Sundance first thing in the morning, and I triple-checked the address and made certain that I had everything that I needed, (form, photo, synopsis, credits and check), I wished it luck and sent it on its way.

I don't have a prayer, but I don't care. Thanks to Ed working like a coolie for three days, the deadline was made. And now I have a new deadline, because I have decided to submit it to Slamdance as well. The deadline is two weeks from now, so we have time to change anything that I want changing, and it's pretty unlikely that I have the problem of being accepted both places!

I had to wait eight whole hours before I could go home and watch it, and it's just great, I was so thrilled. There are a couple of small changes I'd like, but basically, it's great. I'm so proud of all of us.

I've gotten a few really great emails saying as how I'm all inspirational and stuff for getting this film done, and at first I thought that was overstating it, but you know what? They are right! You should be inspired because I have made this film, because basically, if I can get off of my lazy ass and actually accomplish something like this rather than just thinking about it, literally anybody can!

Be inspired! Make a film! Write a book! Do something that you have been meaning to, because when it comes right down to it, you cannot possibly be as big of a goof-off as I am.
