(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

1 October

There being no votes in my forum whatsoever, not to mention Saundra sending me a beautiful new design with a reminder that I have another one from her for crying out loud that I had forgotten about does not stop me from doing my reruns after all!

I figured that this had a nice autumn feel, and I think that it is certainly worth a comeback, last seen in October 1997.

So, back to Saturday.

Kate and I got to her house, and Wes and Corina and Melissa and Colleen were there waiting, along with Kate's new kitten, just the cutest little kitten in all the land.

See?

He has many names, Kate's roommate named him after her dead boyfriend, Kate named him after a character from Harry Potter, both names are too big for such a tiny kitten, so in the meantime his name is Snooks, but basically, everyone calls him The Baby. Or, to be more accurate, said in a high, squeaky voice, "Da Beebee!" "O, look at Da Beebee! Da yitta Beebee is just da cutest yitta Beebee inna whole worl'!"

There is something about tiny kitten that pretty much make everyone act like a big loon.

While we were gushing over the kitten, the phone rang and it was Caoihme, just off the boat from Ireland! Okay, so I'm pretty sure that it was a plane, but coming to America from the Old Country requires a boat. She probably didn't think that the streets were paved with gold, though.

It was great talking to her, and I whined some more about her not coming to NY to see me, because everyone must come to NY to meet me, and hey, maybe she'll come to NY to see me! Because nothing is more attractive than whining and pouting.

After all nine million of us talked to her, we went out to eat, wandering around the city for hours (proving my old " there is noplace to eat in Philadelphia" theory), until, trembling and bleary-eyed from malnutrition, we found a place and stuffed our faces until we were not only sated but waddling.

This was a recurring theme this weekend--we either were famished and weeping or stuffed like geese, so full that we had to get the sticks out in order to shove that last bit of food down our craws. I must have eaten my weight in fatty, salty and sugary foods. My kind of weekend.

We went back to Kate's house and I showed them my movie, which they seemed to like, then Colleen showed us some of her terrific wedding and honeymoon photos until we all more or less fell asleep where we were sitting. Wait, that sounds like her pictures were a drag, which they were not at all, we were just absolutely exhausted!
